The tour de france ● The Tour De France is one of the world's most prestigious cycling events.
● It takes place in June every year and the participants cover over 3000 KMs.
● The first Tour de France race was held in 1903.
● The youngest rider ever to win the Tour de France was Henri Comet – he was
only 19 years old when he won in 1904.
● The oldest person to win the Tour de France was Firmin Lambot, who was 36
years old when he won in 1922.
● It is estimated that around 15 million spectators line the route of the tour.
A little bit about Bradley ...
● Born in 1980 in London
● He has competed in both track cycling AND road cycling.
● The first ever British person to win the Tour De France (Chris Froome was the
second in 2016)
● Won gold at the London 2012 Olympics on the track
● Wiggins was granted a knighthood in 2013
● Bradley crashed out of the Tour in 2011 but came back to WIN in 2012!
