BLY!
RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT: BEHAVE RESPONSIBLY!
For more than a decade, the Tour de France has been implementing measures designed to reduce its environmental footprint.Along with organisations such as the Assembly of the Departments of France (ADF), the Regional Agency for Sustainable Development (ARPE Midi- Pyrnes), and Vacances Propres, you can also be a major player in our campaign.
On the Tour: I sort out recyclable packaging (plastic, glass, paper, cardboard) and batteries; If Im a smoker, I throw my butts in an appropriate place or keep them.
IM A RIDER
When I want to dispose of rubbish (bottles, packaging) during the race, I make use of the collection points at the beginning and the end of feed zones, as well as the collection point located 20 kilometres from the finish or at the foot of the last climb on mountain stages;
Away from these areas, I hand my rubbish to a following car or I keep it in my jersey pockets.
IM A RACE FOLLOWER
I turn off my car engine if Im stopped for more than a minute; I encourage car-sharing whenever possible; I behave responsibly with regard to the environment by reducing my speed (less pollution, less consumption);
I use the rubbish bags handed out at the start of the Tour and can get another one if necessary from the Point Info Tri or from a member of the waste management team; I also use the recycling bins that are available in all areas (the Tour Village, finish areas, service stations, the relais-tape mid-stage stops...). If there arent any bins available, I keep my rubbish and dispose of it later.
IM A MEMBER OF THE PUBLICITY CARAVAN
I sort out packaging (cardboard, plastic wrapping and pallets) and put it in the skips provided for this purpose in the caravans parking area; I adjust the distribution of the products Im handing out depending on the terrain (crossing watercourses, passing close to cliff edges...) and the number of people on the roadside; I encourage the public not to throw packaging on the ground following the distribution of goodies.
If I have any doubts, I approach a member of the waste management team.

BETTER AWARENESS MEANS BETTER PROTECTION
Educating the public about the richness of their natural heritage is one of the core missions of the National Museum of natural History. In creating the series The tour de France of Biodiversity, the museum aims to promote this common heritage to the whole French population and make them aware of the importance of having a better understanding of nature in order to protect it better.
21 SPOTS FOR 21 STAGES
Every day, at the start of the live broadcast on France 2 or France 3, Bernard Hinault will present The tour de France of Biodiversity in a fun and informative clip. The Badger, who is the ambassador for this initiative, will introduce these little trailers, which will reveal to viewers the outstanding natural
areas that are protected or managed by Man in order to better preserve nature. As they follow the Tours riders, the public will discover the richness of the landscapes that the race passes through and the rationale behind the various conservation tools used within them. It will feature national and regional parks, nature reserves, biosphere reserves, and Natura 2000 areas.

THE CENTRE DES MONUMENTS NATIONAUX
The leading French public network with relation to culture and tourism with more than 9.5 million visitors per year, the Centre des monuments nationaux (CMN) both preserves 98 exceptional monuments together with their parks and gardens and opens them up to visitors. Thanks to their diversity, they illustrate the richness of Frances heritage.
NATIONAL MONUMENTS IN THE HEART OF THE RACE
As it crosses the country, the Tour de France allows those who are eagerly following the race to discover many of the CMNs monuments. Featuring this year as a backdrop to the Tour de France will be: the Villa Cavrois in Croix (Nord department), the towers of Amiens Cathedral (Somme), the chteau de Carrouges (Orne), the standing stones at Carnac and the megalithic site at Locmariaquer (le Morbihan), Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey (Tarn-et-Garonne), the Montmaurin archaeological site (Haute-Garonne), and Pariss monuments, notably the Arc de Triomphe, around which the riders will circle 10 times before crossing the final finish line on the Champs-lyses on Sunday 26 July.

FINISH LINE RESTRICTIONS
Beyond the finish line is a sensitive zone: the security of the riders is paramount; the work of their team and the media take priority.
If you do not have any reason to be in this zone, you must leave it when you hear the siren announcing the last ten kilometres. Tour management and representatives of the Amaury Sport Organisation will be responsible for checking the validity of your presence and could, if necessary, withdraw your accreditation.
