Dear Families, Thank you for supporƟng Toora Primary School’s Halloween Disco. Children from the area had a great Ɵme and if it becomes an annual event I’m condent it will conƟnue to grow in popularity. If anyone has photos please send them along so we can include them in a future newsleƩer and add to our Website. The costumes were amazing, making it extremely dicult to recognise each other. We had an excellent Professional Development (PD) day on Friday in which all staworked with specialist ScoƩ Dunbabin focusing on posiƟve behaviours and the need to provide consistency, certainty and frequency, not severity, when dealing with behaviours (fairness, cause and eect). This is an ongoing area of work for us and our school community. South Gippsland Shire has been very supporƟve of the Walk to School October program providing funds for our Healthy Breakfast and conducƟng a mapping exercise with our students. Thank you to staand parents who have supported students to increase their parƟcipaƟon in physical acƟviƟes and to make healthy choices. Please come along to our special assembly tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock in the Project Space and witness students receiving various awards including: Lions Club InternaƟonal Peace Prize CompeƟƟon; South Gippsland Water Poster CompeƟƟon (these two learning tasks were judged externally to the school); Art awards presented by Ms Chalmers; Happy Box prizes presented by student leaders (staput student names in the Happy Box when they are seen doing posiƟve behaviours); Walk to School October rae , three prizes drawn. We look forward to another exciƟng and busy week next week with students parƟcipaƟng in either the Ballarat/Melbourne Camp or the Day Camp. Thank you to all stawho have done extra work to ensure that these valuable learning experiences are well organised and that students are well prepared. Cheers, Barb.
