Dear Families, Thank you for suppor ng Toora Primary School’s Halloween Disco. Children from the area had a great me and if it becomes an annual event I’m confident it will con nue to grow in popularity. If anyone has photos please send them along so we can include them in a future newsle er and add to our Website. The costumes were amazing, making it extremely difficult to recognise each other. We had an excellent Professional Development (PD) day on Friday in which all staff worked with specialist Sco Dunbabin focusing on posi ve behaviours and the need to provide consistency, certainty and frequency, not severity, when dealing with behaviours (fairness, cause and effect). This is an ongoing area of work for us and our school community. South Gippsland Shire has been very suppor ve of the Walk to School October program providing funds for our Healthy Breakfast and conduc ng a mapping exercise with our students. Thank you to staff and parents who have supported students to increase their par cipa on in physical ac vi es and to make healthy choices. Please come along to our special assembly tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock in the Project Space and witness students receiving various awards including: Lions Club Interna onal Peace Prize Compe on; South Gippsland Water Poster Compe on (these two learning tasks were judged externally to the school); Art awards presented by Ms Chalmers; Happy Box prizes presented by student leaders (staff put student names in the Happy Box when they are seen doing posi ve behaviours); Walk to School October raffle , three prizes drawn. We look forward to another exci ng and busy week next week with students par cipa ng in either the Ballarat/Melbourne Camp or the Day Camp. Thank you to all staff who have done extra work to ensure that these valuable learning experiences are well organised and that students are well prepared. Cheers, Barb.
A reminder to all families of our Whole School Healthy Eating Policy that states
lollies and chocolate do not belong in our school lunch boxes.

2015 CLASS STRUCTURES Please take the me to review our projected student numbers for 2015, based on our current informa on of new en‐rolments and families who are shi ing out of the area. If you know of changes but have not yet informed us, please let us know at the office as soon as possible. We would like your input as to how you think it will be best to group our students for 2015 so have provided you with the expected numbers, broken into gender groups. Each year we run three classes and always need to decide at what level the three grade grouping will be based on current student needs. We value your input and look forward to considering your opinions when making our decisions. Please note: it is possible to split year levels, for example we could have a Grade 2/3/4 and Grade 4/5/6.
