It is so wonderful to see TIPOGNO very well represented at Regional. I also want to acknowledge Katie Liljeberg who taught an Ethics class at regional. Great job to everyone! In addition, TIPOGNO hosted a small reception for our new Regional Vice President (RVP), Alesha Raney. Alesha is a past president of TIPOGNO and was elected for a two (2) year term as our new RVP. Congratulations also to our own Marie Meyers who was appointed as Assistant to the new RVP. Thank you to Insurance Professionals of Acadiana and Baton Rouge for hosting an amaz- ing convention. Next year’s Regional conference will be held in Oklahoma, and hopefully we will have even more members attend! Due to the Regional Conference, we will not hold a formal March meeting; however we will have our New Member Social on Thursday, March 29 th , 2018 starting at 5:30 PM at Knuckleheads Sports Bar & Eatery. We encourage all seasoned, current, past, new, pro- spective members to join as well as for everyone to bring a friend, colleague or co-worker. The way we keep our association thriving and successful is by bringing in new members and showing everyone what TIPOGNO and IAIP is all about. The flyer is included in the bulletin. Please contact Chad Harrington with any questions. We will be voting for the International Secretary for IAIP soon. The Region VI Conference was recently held in Lafayette, LA and we had a great time! It was a great conference for education, networking, fellowship and fun! I want to congratu-late Baylie Babin for winning Rookie of The Year and Liz LaGrange for winning the YNP (Young, New, Professional) registration to National this year. The applications for both awards can be found on the local IAIP website under “For members > Awards &

Scholarships > Awards” from the homepage or email me and I can send you a copy.

Rookie of the Year: Should be an active member of TIPOGNO for not more than two(2) years.

Professional of the Year: Should have been an active member of TIPOGNO for a minimum of two (2) years.

All members are eligible except for the judges.

Although we will not be awarding Underwriter, Claims or Risk Manager of the year, etc., members can still

apply for these awards at the Regional level. You may find those applications on the IAIP website. Please let

me know if you need any assistance with any of the awards.

February 2018 General Meeting Minutes

The February General Meeting of the Insurance Professionals of Greater New Orleans came to order at 6:00 P.M. The meeting was held at Impastato’s in Metairie, LA. Attendance was 35 members of our 88 membership for which a quorum was present and 2 guests. All Officers were present except Chad Harrington. All Board Members were present except Liz Barker. Debbie Lee led the Collect and Pledge of Allegiance.

Officers Reports

The minutes of the January general meeting were published in the bulleting. Are there any corrections to the minutes? Hearing none, the minutes were approved as published. Correspondence: None. Treasurer: Karen Crouch – Cash Balance as of January 31, 2018: $17,399.77. Deposits as of December 31, 2017, were $2,761.98, and expenses as of December 31, 2017, were $2,850.66, leaving total funds of $17,311.09 as of January 31, 2018. Are there any questions concerning the treasurer’s report? Hearing none, the report will be filed for audit. President: Amber Townsend – 1. Acknowledged past presidents in attendance. 2. Our Regional Convention is only 2 weeks away! Please book your hotel reservations and sending your registration. It is March 8

th – 10

th in Lafayette, LA. The theme is “Going All In – Cajun Style.”

3. National Convention – St. Louis – June 7th – 9

th – just a reminder. Also, you should be seeing emails soon from Na-

tional about voting for the International Secretary. Voting will be in early March. President-Elect: Courtney Donato – Working on filling committees and boards – multiple people serving on the same committee makes the workload less on everybody involved – see Courtney if you are interested in volunteering. Vice-President: Chad Harrington – report given by Amber – 88 members as of 2/21/18 – goal is 100. New Member So-cial will be at Knuckleheads in Metairie on March 29

th – first beer/wine is included, and food will be served. Remember

that National IAIP contacts you directly for your renewal dues. See Chad if you still have not received your membership gift. Secretary: Liz LaGrange – None. Immediate Past President: Brittany Davis Stoudt – In the February and upcoming March Tattlers, it was reported that if you are interested in serving as Secretary or on the Board of Directors for the 2018-2019 term, please forward Brittany your letter of intent and qualifications by March 12

th. All potential nominees for the Board of Directors shall have been a

member for at least one (1) year and served on at least one (1) committee. A candidate for an Officer position shall have served on the Board of Directors and must have a letter of support from their employer. Qualifications not received by the deadline will not be considered by the nominating committee and will have to be nominated from the floor at the April General Membership Meeting. Qualifications from nominees pre-sented from the floor during the April meeting are to be read by the nominator. Duties of the Secretary are outlined in the Bylaws and Standing Rules found on the IAIP website. Please be sure to review the most up-to-date duties prior to sub-mitting your qualifications. Interviews for the Secretary position will be held at a place and time to be determined in March. In addition, the nominating committee was voted on at the February board meeting, and the committee is as fol-lows: Lisa Walters; Chad Harrington; Amber Townsend; Past President Darlene Z. Nelson; 1

st Alternate Leslie Sallean;

Charitable Giving (Chairpersons – Debbie Lee & Debbie Harrington): None Golf Tournament (Chairpersons – Debbie Lee & Marie Meyers): Report given by Amber – Lynnsey Belsome from Children’s Hospital was supposed to be here tonight to accept a check for $3,000 from our golf tournament pro-ceeds. However, she contacted Amber hours before the meeting to let us know that she was sick and could not make it. Amber will see if she can come to our April meeting; if not, we will make other arrangements to present the check. We will also be sending $500.00 to IAIP of Puerto Rico. Community Rebuilding Day (Chairpersons – Cheryl Caillouet): N/A

New Business: Gloria Bruno proposed that, if MAL Alesha Raney wins the Regional VP election, the TIPOGNO delega-tion at Regional throw a traditional victory reception to be funded from Miscellaneous, due to Alesha’s past membership in TIPOGNO. Motion was seconded and passed. Membership/Organization by Chad Harrington [email protected]

As of February 14th- we have 89 Members total. My goal for the year is 100 members.

The date of our new member social is set for Thursday March 29th at Knuckleheads in Metairie, LA. We will

provide food and the first drink will be on us! The rest will be a cash bar. Please invite everyone you know

and have them come out and see what our organization is all about!

Membership gifts are in and anyone who has not received their gift please see me.

Please remember to reach out to insurance friends and colleagues. If you know of any prospective members,

please forward their contact information so that we can reach out to them and see if they are interested in be-

All qualifications are due to myself by Monday, March 12th. Interviews for the Secretary Position will be held at a place and time to be determined in March. At this time, I will present a motion for formal approval of the Nominating Committee.
