PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Families,
Wow, what another amazing two weeks at Warwick Farm PS! Our students have been incredibly busy both
inside and outside the classroom. Here are just some of the activities our students have been part of.
Swim Scheme: Congratulations to our students who completed an intensive two week learn to swim program.
The weather is warming up and I am sure you will be able to put your skills you have learnt into practice. A
big ‘thank you’ to Miss Colley, Miss Mahoney, Mrs Todd and Miss Peterson for your organisation and daily
commitment over the two weeks.
Public Speaking: Students from Kindergarten to
Year 6 were involved in our Public Speaking
competition. Our whole school final was held on
Wednesday. Students were well prepared and
spoke with clarity.
Maths Cup: Our two teams from Year 6 represented
our school at the annual Maths Cup hosted by Amity
College. Aden, Anjikya, Dennis, Melisa, Fonise and
Evan were challenged and made our school proud
through the three rounds of very difficult questions.
Liverpool Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group NAIDOC Celebration: We had some of our
Aboriginal students attend the annual NAIDOC event at Ashcroft PS.
Students were involved in many cultural activities including jewellery
design, yidaki playing, dance and even bush tucker food tasting. Do you
know what emu, kangaroo and crocodile taste like?
School Administration and Support Staff Recognition Week
We are a very lucky school to have so many amazing adults who help
our students and teachers. Two very special people who are always
there to greet us in the morning, patch us up when we injure ourselves,
make sure our parents know what is happening at our school by printing
our newsletter or answering the phone are just some of the important
jobs these two incredible ladies do. So THANK YOU Mrs Gauci and Mrs Collie
our school is a better place because of you!
Body, Brain and Belonging Launch – Our Percussion group were
invited to perform at the launch of a new book through School Link
at Carnes Hill Community Centre. It was a fantastic warm up for our
LaAFF event next Tuesday night.
Possum Magic – Stage 1 students attended a live performance of Possum Magic at Casula Power House. Mrs
Smalley enjoyed making her own possum mask!

Hello everyone in our wonderful school community! Here is an overview of our community events and news
for the last 2 weeks.
PARENTS & CITIZENS (P&C) ASSOCIATION On Thursday 5/9/19 our P&C met at the brand new time of 2:00pm. We had a strong attendance and Mrs
Chand and Mrs Faili led the meeting very capably.
Matters discussed concerned the Father’s Day stall, insurance, a Halloween stall, banking and a range of
matters per the agenda published to everyone on Class Dojo and Facebook.
Congratulations to our fabulous team for raising approximately $800 for our school, through our very
successful Father’s Day stall. Well done!
PERCUSSION COURSE FOR YEAR 3 AND 4 STUDENTS The Liverpool Arts and Film Festival (LAaFF) is on next Tuesday – 10/9/19 Liverpool Catholic Club. Notes have
been sent home and a poster regarding the event is on the P&C Noticeboard. We hope that parents and
other family members will purchase tickets and support our students. They have worked so hard for this!
On Thursday 5/9/19 our percussion students had a fantastic opportunity to perform our LAaFF performance
at a special event at Carnes Hill Community Centre. This event was a book launch by Health NSW. Thanks to
Mrs Haeren we were invited to perform at this very important event and we loved it!!
Our students did a brilliant job and were STARS during their
performance and across the whole time we were at the event. Health
and Education professionals praised our students for their performance
and good manners. Our school is proud of these fantastic boys and
girls – they are truly wonderful ambassadors for our school.
Health NSW presented every student with a Certificate of Appreciation
and a bag of goodies! Sensory games were played by all students
(see picture) and they received a delicious cake to have with their
water.
Many thanks from Mrs McCabe and Mr Cameron to Mrs Williams and Mrs Haeren, who helped us to
transport and care for the students who attended this performance. This was a great opportunity to
showcase our talent, pride in our school and fantastic manners. Thank you to Mrs Macmillan for approving
our excursion!!
Percussion stars leading the way!!
BREAKFAST CLUB Students always follow their STARS in Breakfast Club and earn PBL tokens (which convert to DOJO points).
Well done to students who work in Breakfast Club and many thanks to partners FOODBANK and Gift of
Bread!
Each morning at assembly, interested students speak and acknowledge the hard work of students working
in Breakfast Club. These public speakers are STARS too!
ENGLISH CLASSES English Class # 5 on Thursday 12/9/19 is the last session for Term 3. Big thanks to tutors Lucinda Maloney and
Jessy Duong who have volunteered their valuable time to join Mr Cameron and assist our parents and other
community members attending our course.
Participants have improved their reading, writing and speaking of English and have shared interesting
cultural stories and ideas. The course has been a great experience for parents and tutors alike!
Our last class will be shortened so we can have a cultural morning tea to celebrate the success of our
participants in learning English. Parents and the tutors will bring cultural food to share and all members of
staff at our school are invited. Mr Cameron will be cooking a special vegetarian noodle dish in C4K!!

CRUNCH N SIP
The Crunch N Sip program is a highly successful initiative to encourage the children to
improve their daily intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and to drink plenty of water. You
can support this initiative by making sure that your child has their “Fruit Break“ snack
every day and an extra bottle of water to have available in the classroom.
NO HAT- SHADE PLAY
Does your child remember to bring their hat to school every day? Families are reminded that children need
to have a hat to play in the playground with their friends. Children who do not have a hat are required to
play under the shaded areas.
SCHOOL BANKING 2019
School banking takes place each Wednesday.
Students Commonwealth bank books will be collected from their classrooms and returned
to their teachers for return to students.
If you would like to open an account with the Commonwealth Bank for your child please
speak with School Banking Co-ordinators on any Wednesday in the C4K Room.
LIVERPOOL NEIGHBOURHOOD CONNECTIONS- SCHOOL CANTEEN
A variety of freshly made healthy snacks are made daily and
available at recess and lunch. Watch the blackboard for fresh
homemade soups and meals that may vary daily depending on
season. Canteen lunch orders need to be placed by 9:00am.

mornings, in the School Hall.
