It is through this that we have created a personal, bio- graphical account of the lives of the men listed on the memorial. Aims and Objectives To begin the research on the lives of the 223 men listed on the Armstrong War Memorial to mark the centenary of the First World War. To create a personalised biography for each man listed on the Memorial. To promote the study of War Memorials and Genealogy. Continuous progress has been made after the completion of the project through the involvement of the Archaeology Society and the Young Archaeologists Club (YAC). Armstrong Building Memorial Introduction

As we near the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, it is impera-

tive to remember the lives of the men at Armstrong College who fought and

died in the Great War. It is through this that we have created a personal, bio-
