THE SORCERY OF APPRENTICESHIP
“The Sorcery of Apprenticeship”, an article written by Wilfried Prewo was telling us
about how can the economical condition in germany is being good while they have to spend
so much money to pay the taxes and expensive labor force. The Germany’s government is
having an apprenticeship system that is used to increasing their economic productivity. They
can control their economic well even their system is having very high taxes and they have to
spend large costs amount of money to pay their labors. He said that this apprenticeship
system can be the best solution for the teenager that is in transitional phase from school to
work. In this system, the apprentices will be given a training, these training is specified for a
specifiec job, so there will not be a wasting money to train unnecessery thing for those
apprentices. From the training, the apprentices can get skill that is needed for the
companies. The other advantages is that it strengthens the tradition of internal
advancement.
This apprenticeship system actually is very good system that will give an efficient
workers for the companies, and of corse the choosen workers will be the efficient way to
increase their companiy’s progress. Their company will be growing as what they wanted
from the first time, because they trained their workers by themselves and programmed them
to do the jobs in the way the companies want.
Overall the advantage from the apprenticeship system is belong to the company, if
we look at the worker, how if the workers is not long suitable with a company (for the
example) ? will they still stay on that company? But if we look from the situation, the worker
was created as a worker from one specified company, they are not created for general
company, will they still tay on this condition? If they are feeling enough working in a
company and want to walk out from a company, can they enter to other company with their
too specified skills? This one can make a crucial problem, the workers will not have any job
and the unemployement person will be increasing.
Today, job is getting hard to get. If a worker only use their training skill and entering a
company and they do not have any other skills and do not have knowledge because they do
not continue their study and choose to take the apprenticeship system, they will be killed by
the time, they will not stay longer because they felt like they have nothing to be rent to get a
job. If you have a job, you will rent your brain and your skills of corse to do the job, but for
the apprentices, they only have a specified skills and they do not have any other knowledge
except what they learned on the specified training. In this chase, college education is very
important, because it can be a standard of a job. If you only have a little knowledge you can
only do a little thing.
From what we’re discussing above, we can get conclusion that the apprenticeship
system can be applied in some countries, as germany maybe which has been suitable with
this system. But on the other country, this system is not suitable enough because their
people think that if you are better to have a higher degree than having wasting
apprenticeship system because they feel that they can do more more and more. This
apprenticeship system will be very effiecent and will be the best i think if it’s applied in a
country with a high number of unoccupied people. It will decrease the rate of unoccupied
people.
