Sacrament of the Sick In the event of serious illness or medical emergency, Anointing of the Sick and Eucharist may be arranged by contacting the Parish office. In case of a medical emergency after office hours call (949) 257-8017.

Sacrament of Baptism Parents of infants requesting information about Baptism may contact the Faith Formation office, 496-6011. Infant Baptisms are celebrated on the first and third Sunday of each month following catechesis for parents and godparents of candidates.

Celebration of Christian Funerals At the time of death, a family member should contact the Parish Office, as soon as possible, to arrange the date and time for the funeral liturgy.

Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Adults requesting information about full initiation and communion with the Roman Catholic Church (the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confir-mation) may contact the Faith Formation office at 496-6011.

Sacrament of Matrimony The Sacrament presumes active sacramental participation on the part of one or both persons. Couples must begin preparation for their Sacrament at least six months prior to their proposed wedding date. Please call the Parish office for more information.

Eucharistic Adoration On the first and third Monday of each month we gather in prayer and praise before the Blessed Sacrament. The Diocesan intention is that of an increase of vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Emergency Evacuation Drill at All Masses Next Weekend—May 31 & June 1

Next weekend, May 31 and June 1st, we will have an emergency evacuation drill at the conclusion every Mass. The purpose of the drill is to ensure we are prepared to evacuate everyone from the church for an emergency—be it a fire, earthquake or other emergency. Please review the exit plans shown below so you will be know which exit to use based on where you sit in the church.

The Pastoral Services Appeal (PSA) funds ministries and services that serve all 62 parishes and the local community. The Diaconate Program in our Diocese is funded com-pletely by the annual PSA. There are currently 105 active deacons in the Diocese of Orange, serving in a wide variety of ministries. Sacramentally speaking, a Deacon can do everything that a Priest can do, except celebrate the Mass, hear Confessions, and Anoint the Sick). The PSA funds the four-year program of discernment, education and spiritual formation for men preparing for ordination to the diaconate and their wives, as well as continuing education and formation for those deacons already ordained. Last fall our parish celebrated the diaconate ordination of parishioner Deacon Al Scaduto. Currently parishioners Mike and Rosie Stock are in the Diaconate Program and count on your support as they complete their diaconate training.

La Campaña para los Servicios Pastorales (PSA) financia los ministerios y servicios que sirven a los 62 parroquias y la co-munidad local. El Programa de Diaconado en nuestra Diócesis es financiado completamente por el PSA anual. En este momento hay 105 diáconos activos en la Diócesis de Orange, que prestan servi-cios en una amplia variedad de ministerios. Sacramentalmente hablando, un diácono puede hacer todo lo que un sacerdote puede hacer, salvo celebrar la misa, confesar, y ungir a los enfermos). El PSA financia el programa de cuatro años de discernimien-to, la educación y la formación espiritual de los hombres que se preparan para la ordenación al diaconado y sus esposas, así como la formación continua y la formación para los diáco-nos ya ordenados. The Adoration Society Invites You

To make a special commitment to pray quietly and worship our Lord in the exposed Blessed Sacrament. Are you willing to commit one hour on the first or third Monday of the month for Eucharistic adoration? Come pray for vocations to the priesthood, deacon-ate & religious life, your family and peace in our world. During our 24-hour adoration the Blessed Sacrament cannot be left unattended. We would like to schedule two people each hour at night and in the early morn-ing since we will no longer have a security guard starting in June. We are most in need of people willing to commit for one hour at the following times: 1st Mondays @10 a.m., 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. 3rd Mondays @ 1 a.m., 3 a.m., 5 a.m., and 6 a.m. Please contact Deana Progar at (949) 525-7092 or dprogar@stedward.com to let her know when you will be able to come and pray with our Lord.

St. Anne's Circle for St. Edward’s Moms Thursdays 9—11 a.m.

St. Anne’s Circle is a support network for mothers, regardless of their child's age. We meet every Thursday, from 9-11 a.m., at Sea Canyon Park in Dana Point. TIJUANA MINISTRY Every Thursday, after the 8:15 A.M. Mass, volunteers make approximately 300 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches which are taken to Tijuana on Friday and distributed to the jail inmates, the homeless and needy. We are in need of the peanut butter and jelly, if you can make a monetary donation or care to donate the peanut butter and jelly please contact Suzanne Luke at 496-7209 and suzannesjc@cox.net or drop it off at the Parish Office.

Prayer Shawl Ministry Fridays @ 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry comes together every Friday to knit, chat, and pray for the sick, the home-bound and those in need of comfort who receive its prayer shawls and lap blankets. New members, even those interested in learning how to knit, are invited to join this ministry on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Church Meeting Room.
