St. Cecilia’s Feast Day—November 22
PRAYER TO ST. CECILIA O glorious saint, who chose to die
instead of denying your King, we pray you please to help us
as His fair praise we sing!
We lift our hearts in joyous song to honor Him this way.
And while we sing, remembering, to sing is to doubly pray.
At once in our hearts and in our tongues
we offer double prayer sent heavenward on winged notes
to praise God dwelling there.
While in our hearts and tongues we try with song to praise God twice, we ask dear saint, to help us be
united close to Christ!
Offices closed November 22 & 23

Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time November 18, 2018
FOCUS: The Son of Man will gather his elect from the four winds.
The sacrifice of Jesus is perfect and complete, atoning for our sins, and he will one day come again to gather to his side all of us who have followed him. In doing this, he will judge between the living—those who have remained faithful to his commandments—and the dead: those who lived lives not as disciples. Christ’s judgment, then, simp-ly reflect our status, it doesn’t impose it. God has chosen us for his own—we are the elect. Let us respond by choosing it for ourselves, as well.
LITURGY OF THE WORD: Daniel heard the word of the Lord describing an end time where those who sleep will either awake to life everlasting or to everlasting dis-grace. In the second reading we hear that by Christ’s one sacrifice, we are made perfect. In the Gospel, Jesus tells of the day that the Son of Man will come in glory to gath-er his elect.
REFLECTION: Our faith invites us to trust that, even amid complete upheaval, God has not abandoned us. "The tribulation" Jesus predicts for his disciples is about to take place for him. When their world collapses with Jesus’ death, will they remember and cling to his words and look forward to an entirely new Spring? The same can be asked of us.
So we ask ourselves: As we face our own tribulations can we trust that Je-
sus’ words will not to fail us and that he will be faith-ful to us?
How can I be a symbol of Jesus’ steadfastness to oth-ers in their trials?
God Bless Our Newly Baptized Lyana Carina Hernandez

Thank You The Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia wishes to thank everyone who contributed to the recent Baby Bottle Campaign. Your generosity of $4,288 was col-lected for the needs of the mothers and babies served through the efforts of the Pro-Life Union and their out-reach programs, especially Guiding Star Ministries. We sincerely appreciate your contributions and a big “Thank You” also to those who volunteered their time in this effort.
Advent Giving Tree It’s that time of year when we begin to reflect on the past year and give thanks for all we have in our lives. During the season of Advent, we will once again be able to become an ‘extended family’ to many of our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate and share with them a sea-son of happiness and giving. The Giving Tree will be in Church by November 22nd. Decorating the tree will be ornaments that will specify an item from the ‘Wish List’ of those associated with St. Francis Inn, St. John’s Hospice, Bethesda, Women of Hope, Mercy Hospice, Birthright and Guiding Star Min-istries. Please feel free to take an ornament and pur-chase the item noted. Your gifts may be placed under the tree the weekend of December 15-16. Thank you for making a difference in someone else’s life.

Each day of Advent, you will receive an email with: Short inspirational videos Practical tips for your everyday life Real-life stories to encourage you in your faith
