NOVEMBER 25, 2018 OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE
UNIVERSE!
From the Desk of Fr. Andy
Dear St. Paul Family,!
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our boiler replacement
fund.! Your help with this need is greatly appreciated.! Our
boilers are now up and running, although the technicians are
working very hard to regulate the heat in every part of our
buildings.! Our new boilers are working with our existing pneumatic
thermostat system.! At some point in the future we may have to
switch over to electronic thermostats, but we are hoping that the
pneumatic system will work great once they get everything
finetuned.! Thank you for your patience with this project.! At
least we now have heat!! Something certainly to be thankful for
this Thanksgiving weekend.! If you have not had an opportunity to
contribute to our new boilers yet there are contribution envelopes
available for this purpose at each entrance. !
Thank you to everyone who brought food to Church at Thanksgiving
for the Local food pantries.! Your kindness is greatly appreciated
by the less fortunate of our area.! If you would like to still
contribute to the local food pantries, food can be dropped off in
the Narthex of Church at any time throughout the year.! Let us
especially be mindful of those who need our help this Christmas,
and throughout the cold winter months.! !
I often hear from parents how difficult it can be to attend Mass
with young children. !If a parish is warm and inviting, parents
have positive experiences and want to return. !If however, the
parish is not welcoming, parents often leave for another parish
unfortunately, taking not just their family with them, but also
other friends and family members. !With Advent and Christmas
approaching, this is a time when our parish will welcome many
families that are not regularly practicing their faith and is a
wonderful evangelization opportunity for us.! Do your best to
welcome all of our families, especially those with young children.!
If infants and toddlers make a little noise, smile at them and
their parents, don’t scowl or yell at them.! If we want our parish
and our Church to grow, we need to welcome all families and make
them feel as comfortable as possible among us as they come to
worship the Lord with us at Mass.!
Participating in Mass together as a family, while challenging, can
be a positive experience for parents and children. !Children have
the opportunity to spend time in the presence of Jesus and be
formed by the community of faith gathered together to worship Him.
!They are especially privileged to see the example of their parents
at Mass, even with the challenges and distractions that may
accompany attending Mass with children.! !
We will be offering a First Saturday Mass on Saturday, December 1st
at 8:00am.!
Have a Great Week!!
