D LICENSE – Course Description

Introduction/Objectives • To prepare coaches working with players U13 and above by expanding

their knowledge and understanding of the technical and tactical demands of the game and the developmental process necessary for players of these ages.

• To provide an understanding of practical coaching methodology and the framework necessary to prepare players and a team for competition.

• To prepare coaches for continuing education in soccer Length of Course

• 36 hours Testing

• Practical Coaching/Field Exam • Oral Exam • Written Test that covers:

Care & Prevention of Injuries Laws of the Game

Grading of Candidates

• Pass = National “D” License (eligible to attend a USSF National “C” course after a minimum 1-year waiting period)

• NR = State “D” Certificate (must re-test to receive National “D”) o Must receive a National “D” license and wait a minimum of 1 year

before attending a USSF National “C” License course • Fail (must re-take “D” course)

Expectations of Candidates

• Be in attendance and participate in all activities (field/lecture/discussion) • Bring appropriate soccer attire and writing materials to take notes etc • Pre-Course reading:

o Best Practices booklet – needs to be brought to the course o 4v4 to 11v11 progression document o Candidate Guidelines for Evaluating Soccer o Care and Prevention document

E LICENSE – Course Description

Introduction

• This course is designed for the parent/coach who may or may not have any previous soccer playing or coaching experience.

• The curriculum focuses on the development of the player, both individually and as part of the team. The emphasis will be to build on the player’s technical development by applying tactical concepts within game situations.

Objectives

• To prepare coaches working with players ages 9-12 years old by expanding their knowledge and understanding of the technical and tactical demands of the game and the developmental processes necessary for players of these ages.

• To provide an understanding of practical coaching methodology and the framework necessary to prepare players and a team for competition.

• To prepare coaches for continuing education in soccer Length of Course

• 18 hours Testing

• Comprehensive Written Test that covers: Laws of the Game Methods of Coaching Principles of Play Care & Prevention of Injuries Team Management

** There is no practical coaching test. However, each candidate is given a practice coaching opportunity and given feedback on the course** Expectations of Candidates

Introduction

• This course is designed for the parent/coach of Under 6 and Under 8 aged players

Objectives

• To prepare coaches to unlock the “game within the child” • Provide a better understanding of the specific age characteristics and how

to place players in age appropriate activities • Gain understanding of developmental characteristics of children at this

age Length of Course

• 6 hours Cost

• $25.00

Youth II Module – Course Description

Introduction

• This course is designed for the parent/coach of Under 10 and Under 12 aged players

Objectives

• To prepare coaches to unlock the “game within the child” • Provide a better understanding of the specific age characteristics and how

to place players in age appropriate activities • Gain understanding of developmental characteristics of children at this
