Reflections : Hi Friends, Recently I have been witnessing the power of the Holy Spirit. We all know of that
power and have experienced it, yet once again in the midst it is a powerful, awe-inspiring moment.
As a team we have been trying to figure out how to do YNIA for the second year without taking our teams somewhere in the country. We have some teens that are so disappointed to be in Whitinsville for the second year in a row. Shelly and I were talking to Father Tomasz about this. After thinking about it, he asked if we could collaborate with another parish. That simple sentence changed the entire course of YNIA 2021 and gave us a fire and passion we as leaders were missing.
It has been 7 short days since Father Tomasz asked us that. We have been in contact with two different churches. We have gone to visit Our Lady of the Lake in Leominster to view their space. One simple sentence completely altered our course and has already brought us new friends and new collaborators.
Michelle at Our Lady of the Lake with Father Michael has been trying to institute YNIA. Last summer was supposed to be their first year. Obviously, they were cancelled due to the pandemic. Michelle had a meeting with her kids and parents, and they told her they wanted to try the experience on site. Michelle spent the night praying and trying to figure out how she would run a program she has never experienced. The very next day Shelly contacted her to see if we can team up. She had so much energy and excitement in our first call it further fired up Shelly and I.
This past week Shelly, Rick and I went to Our Lady of the Lake to meet Michelle and Kathy. There are so many common connections between our parishes. There were so many connections to what we do, how we do it, our love for teens. We spent three hours with them and if we weren't starving could have spent the day. Each of us spoke to wanting to do something, provide something meaningful to our teens, but not knowing what or how. Each of us spoke of the fire we feel right now for this project.
Yet again, I am in the presence of the Holy Spirit and yet again, I am in awe. In seven days, we went from a project that was so lackluster and we were fighting for it, then with one simple sentence, changed to a project multiple churches feel the fire and love of the Holy Spirit and the power of God. I am and continue to be in awe of the power of God. To live what has happened these past few days, to see the connections, the conversations, the planning that has happened in these churches to just fall like pieces of a puzzle into place, you can't tell me the Holy Spirit doesn’t have his power deeply involved in this project.
In just a few short days, I have gone from being really disappointed we cannot travel for the second year in a row, to feel my heart burning and so much excitement to collaborate with friends I never knew and who live in our backyard.
Some Facebook Posts from Fr. Tomasz Sensitivity is a form of intelligence. It elevates our human nature. :)
$15 minimum hourly pay is a disaster for small business. It is not a disaster to make less than $15 an hour. Figure it out. :) There is no cure for love. If you suffer from this amazing affliction, nothing will stop you. :)
You are never alone. God is with you. Let your heart rest in peace knowing God is with you. :) Jesus said, “Be quiet!” to the storm and to the demons. He can help us overcome anything. You got to let him quiet it. :)
The key to enduring joy is to appreciate the fact that you live and are and find peace in that simple realization. :) Jesus went where there was pain and suffering. He did not run away. He brought healing and wholeness. :)

The Sacred That Surrounds Us –How Everything in a Catholic Church Points to Heaven*
(What’s What Explanation of What Surrounds Us In Our Church)
Corporal The word corporal comes from the Latin cor-pus (meaning “body”) and is a white square lin-en cloth placed over the altar and altar cloth during the Mass. The corporal is also used un-derneath the monstrance during Eucharistic adoration and on the floor of the tabernacle un-derneath any vessels inside. In the former Roman Mass, the host rested directly on the corporal, giving it its name. In AD 314, Pope Silvester I declared that the corporal only be made of linen and no other cloth. In the early days of Christianity, the corporal was so large , it could be spread across the entire altar table by the deacon, who likewise folded it back up after Holy Communion. The Catholic Church takes great care while handling the consecrated Host and Precious Blood. When the priest breaks and eats the consecrated Host or drinks the Precious Blood, any sacred particles that may fall will go onto this cloth. After Holy Communion, the corporal is folded multiple times to ensure that none of Jesus” Precious Blood and Body is dropped on the floor. This square-shaped cloth is washed in a special way. (*Taken from the book of that name by Andrea Zachman)
