Registering on the SIA website is a lot more straightforward than you might think. If
you follow the steps in this presentation you can’t go wrong!
The first step is to go to
www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk and
it will take you to the webpage
you see on the right >
Click the button circled red.
Register for a “Personal
Account” NOT a business
account, as this could
complicate things when we
come to renew your license.
At this stage, you must enter
your personal details. The
sections with a red star are
mandatory.
Please keep a note of the email
address you use to register
with, as you will need to access
your emails to complete the
registration process.
Also keep a note of the
password you use. The
passwords require at least one
capital letter, one number and
one special character (eg -
!ӣ$%^&*)
Once you have entered
your details you will see
this page >
And you will receive an
email asking you to verify
your account.
This is a hotmail account I set up
for the purposes of this
presentation.
The email you will receive will
look like this >
Click on the blue link...
...which will take you to this
page.
Click “Go to login” and refer to
the notes you made earlier of
your username and password.
You will then be asked to
match your details. This page
is basically to let the SIA know
if there have been any
changes in your circumstances
since your last license
renewal.
If for some reason your new
details are not accepted (eg
passport number) try entering
your old details and we will
amend it when we come to
renew your license.
This green message will
appear when you have
successfully matched your
details.
Scroll down to the bottom and
click “Finish Registration”.
You will then be taken to this
page where it will be
tempting to click “Start a new
Application”.
DO NOT CLICK THIS!
If you click this button it will
slow things down and
complicate the matter as it
will be your responsibility to
contact the SIA and get the
application you started
cancelled.
When you have successfully
registered and matched your
details, compose an email to
the licensing team
(ssuklicensingsharedservices
@uk.g4s.com)
In the subject heading simply
put your name, your payroll
number and the word
“REGISTERED” and send it to
us.
Within 3 working days you
will then receive an email
from the licensing team
saying you have been sent a
link.
Once you receive this, log
back into your SIA account
and follow the steps given to
you in the email.
When you login to your SIA
account you should have a
notification at the top left of
your screen saying “1 unread
message”. Click on either this
or “My Messages” which is just
below.
When you have clicked on
your messages, click “View”
on the message that says
“Action required: You have
been sent a request to link with
a business”
You will receive an email from
the SIA stating that a business
(G4S) is trying to link with you.
You won’t need to do anything
with the email it is simply a
notification.
Tick the box next to “I
have read and understood
the permissions that I am
granting to the business”
And click on “Accept”.
You have now completed
your registration!
As it says in red on the
page, DO NOT click on
“Start a New Application”
Once you have accepted
the link, you won’t need
to go back onto your SIA
portal again, unless you
wish to check the
progress of your
application.
The last step is just to let us
know you have linked.
Simply type out an email to
ssuklicensingsharedservice
[email protected] with your
name, your payroll number
and the word “LINKED”.
And there you have it. You are now registered and linked to G4S on your SIA portal.
When you have completed these steps, and provided all your ID documents (as stated in your registration
pack) we can then make your license renewal application.
Thank you for viewing this presentation. If you have further questions regarding your license renewal you
should speak to your manager first.
