Sharepoint Intranet SystemThe Challenge
One of the world’s largest fi nancial institutions re-quired a solution to increase the effi ciency of a depart-mental Intranet site. The previous site, written in .NET for Wealth Management, was advanced for its time, but cumbersome to use. A new solution was required to provide stakeholders with more actionable infor-mation for informed decisions.
The Solution
As a Microsoft Gold Partner certifi ed in Mid-Market Solutions, DATA Inc, provided resources to identify and develop a solution with the same functionality as the previous intranet site. Working with Wealth Management, DATA Inc. determined that the previous .NET Intranet Site could be re-developed into a robust solution using SharePoint 2007.
Using the old site as a base, DATA Inc mapped out the functionality, layouts and new workfl ows. This allowed for quick identifi cation and match up of out-of-the-box functionalities between the two platforms.
From there, using a mix of .NET capabilities, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer 2007 and Visual Studio for custom workfl ows, DATA Inc. further customized the site to enhance the information retrieval abilities already avail-able for Wealth Management.
The Result
The solution duplicated the functionality and expanded the wealth of information available to stakeholders within Wealth Management – allowing them to make more informed business decisions through actionable intelligence, and streamlining business processes through automated forms management.
