Alas, and Did My Savior Bleed?Alas, and did my Savior bleed,

And did my Sovereign die?Would He devote that sacred

For sinners such as I?

Page 22: Sermon notes @ http:// bible.com /e/1H4a

Was it for sins that I had doneHe suffered on the tree?

Amazing pity, grace unknown,And love beyond degree!

Well might the sun in darkness hide,And shut His glory in,

When Christ, the Great Redeemer, diedFor man, the creature’s, sin

Page 24: Sermon notes @ http:// bible.com /e/1H4a

Thus might I hide my blushing faceWhile His dear cross appears,

Dissolve my heart in thankfulnessAnd melt my eyes to tears.

‘Tis So Sweet‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word;Just to rest upon His promise,

and to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”

Page 29: Sermon notes @ http:// bible.com /e/1H4a

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,Just to trust His cleansing blood;and in simple faith to plunge me

‘neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Page 30: Sermon notes @ http:// bible.com /e/1H4a

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!

Ecclesiastes 9:13-10:7 “Wrecking it for the Rest of Us” Sermon notes @ http://bible.com

Page 38: Sermon notes @ http:// bible.com /e/1H4a

Ecclesiastes 9:13-10:7 13 I have also seen this example of wisdom under the sun, and it seemed great to me. 14 There was a little city with few men in it, and a great king came against it and besieged it, building great siegeworks against it. 15 But there was found in it a poor, wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that poor man.

Page 39: Sermon notes @ http:// bible.com /e/1H4a

16 But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man's wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.17 The words of the wise heard in quiet are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools. 18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.

Page 40: Sermon notes @ http:// bible.com /e/1H4a

10 Dead flies make the perfumer's ointment give off a stench;    so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.2 A wise man's heart inclines him to the right,    but a fool's heart to the left.3 Even when the fool walks on the road, he lacks sense,    and he says to everyone that he is a fool.4 If the anger of the ruler rises against you, do not leave your place,    for calmness will lay great offenses to rest.

Page 41: Sermon notes @ http:// bible.com /e/1H4a

5 There is an evil that I have seen under the sun, as it were an error proceeding from the ruler: 6 folly is set in many high places, and the rich sit in a low place. 7 I have seen slaves on horses, and princes walking on the ground like slaves.

Gospel Application:1) Have you deeply considered the

wisdom of God? 2) Do we pity the fool or run from folly and

embrace godly wisdom? 3) How will the Gospel seem like

foolishness to the world and beautiful to those who are dying?

Do this in remembrance of me…

2 Corinthians 9:7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion,

for God loves a cheerful giver.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26For I received from the Lord what I also

delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and

when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this

in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup

is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of

me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's

death until he comes.

Narrow Little RoadI believe in the love of God

It is an orphan’s wildest dreamIt is a narrow little road

It is an ever-widening desert stream
