How To Improve School

The Problem

The food that we are served now In the cafeteria is run by

overpowered corporations and they are telling the school

what they can buy and what they can serve.

This is not healthy most of the time because the

corporations are just worried about how to feed people

more efficiently and cheaper than how healthy the food is

for the students.

This has to change because the obesity rates are going up

and they are not about to change at the rate we are going.

The Food

The food is high in fats and low in protein and

essential nutrients that we actually need.

It is bland and not appetizing most days which does

not make kids want to eat this food.

These school lunches could not only make kids eat

healthier at school but influence them to make better

choices in life as well.

My Solution

My solution is to home cook the meals and stop

feeding kids sugar packed food that is addicting and

making corporations money because if we starve

them for money they will be forced to change or go

out of business.

The money is not an issue if we get this government

approved and not rely on corporations within the

government to feed our kids unhealthy fat packed

foods.

My Solution Cont.

This would not be easy to do because government is

always looking for ways to cut their budget due to

their horrible money management skills and their

enormous debt to other countries.

I don’t think the government should be able to say

what kids eat at school because their parents are

paying the taxes on the school to operate.

The New Food

The food that I suggested would be high in nutrients that

we need and low in fats and oils.

The food should be home made from scratch, the only

reason the schools don’t do it is because the workers don’t

want to.

This new policy would require the workers to start earlier

shifts and actually work more which is not that bad.

But they are so used to not working that this is not an

option to most of them which is sad.

We should have fresh fruit and vegetables everyday.

We should almost never see fried food or greasy food.

We should bake more and use low fat oil for cooking.

We should have fresh bread for sandwiches.

No more slushies or sugar packed drinks.

Water and all natural fruit juice as well as sports drinks

should be the only options unless they bring their own.

Conclusion

This should be implemented to save our future youth

of America from heart disease and obesity.

This is a growing epidemic and should be taken

seriously.
