LIVE THE LITURGY
Inspiration for the week
Even the slightest flicker of a light helps to
properly orient us when we find ourselves in total
darkness. Being in darkness can be unsettling and
even a bit unnerving. We lose our focus and
struggle to find our bearings and achieve balance.
On life’s journey we may think we are walking in
the light but are really lingering in darkness. We
do not see the full picture, either because we are
distracted, disinterested, or even apprehensive.
Sometimes, we even choose to close our eyes
when the light is readily available to illuminate
our path. Do we really desire to know the truth
of who we are? In Jesus Christ, a light has been
given to those who dwell in darkness. God’s
revelation gives us the light to see where we
come from, who we are and where we are going.
It also tells us that this Good News is not meant
for just a privileged few but is intended to go out
to all the world. Is this something we want to see?

Sacred Heart Catholic School Christmas Spirit was shared on December 17 with our Green & Red Day! Everyone
looked so festive and excited.
World Mission Sunday
Next weekend we will celebrate World Mission
Sunday. With this past year marked by the suffering
and challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic, the
missionary journey of the Church throughout the
world continues. Pope Francis invites the Church to
support mission dioceses where priests, religious and
lay leaders serve the world’s most vulnerable
communities. Please keep the Pope’s missions in your
prayers and be generous in next week’s collection for
World Mission Sunday.
We, as a parish are trying to get caught up with
diocesan collections that were not held due to Covid-
19 in the parish. That is why this one is being held
now.
Envelopes are located at all entrances to Church.
Year-End Tax Deadline
The IRS regulations require donations to be received by a charity on
or before December 31, 2020 or postmarked December 31, 2020 to
qualify as a deduction for 2020. The center will be open as usual on
Monday, December 21 through Wednesday, December 23 from 8:00am-4:00pm and
Monday, December 28 through Wednesday, December 30 from 8:00-4:00pm for
your convenience in making a last minute contribution.
We will watch the mail on January 4, 2021 for any envelopes postmarked
December 31, 2020 so that you are credited appropriately.
