Mount Auburn Hospital’s

Physicians’ Leadership Circle

Established in 2000, the Physician’s Leadership Circle (PLC) is an esteemed group of Mount Auburn Hospital physicians who come together each year to show their support for the hospital. Physicians are invited to join their colleagues and be part of this giving circle by making an annual gift to the hospital. The PLC welcomes donations of $1,000 or more from its active staff. Emeriti

physicians, physicians within 3 years of their residency or fellowship and first time members of the PLC are eligible to join the Circle with a gift of $500 or just $9.60 in weekly payroll deductions.

Unrestricted support is crucial to the success of the hospital as it provides the flexibility to address unexpected challenges and funds important needs not covered by other sources. In this way, our

philanthropy contributes directly to the quality of care and collaboration characteristic of the Mount and will sustain our momentum as we work through these often turbulent and

challenging times in healthcare.

Since the PLC began 19 years ago, Mount Auburn physicians have jointly contributed $6.2 million,making the PLC the second largest source of charitable giving to our hospital. In it’s first year, 32 physicians joined the PLC. Last year, 242 physicians joined – that is more than 60% of the active staff! In recognition of this outstanding support, Jeanette Clough, President,

hosts a dinner each spring for PLC members at a specially chosen venue. Since 2011 the Distinguished Physician Awards have been presented to one active and

one emeritus physician at the PLC dinner.
