Brandenburg and Arvin To marry on October 19 Cynthia Brandenburg and Lance Arvin Tim and Karen Brandenburg of Irvine would like to announce the engagement and forth- coming marriage of their daughter, Cynthia Deanne Brandenburg to Lance Walker Arvin, the son of David and Tina Arvin of Irvine. The bride-to-be is a granddaughter of Doug and Emma Dennis, Eugetta Brandenburg and the late Charles Brandenburg. She is employed by White, Greer & Maggard. The groom-to-be is a grandson of Harry and Mary Fox, Fannie Jo Arvin, and the late Carl Arvin. He is employed by Sherwin Williams. The wedding will take place Saturday, Octo- ber 19, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. at the River Drive Christian Church in Irvine. All friends and rel- atives are invited to attend. Estill County Judge/Executive Wallace Taylor presented a proclamation last week for the Extension Homemakers, proclaiming the week of October 14-20, 2013 as Kentucky Extension Homemakers Week. Pictured above are: Sue J. McKinney, Ona Brinegar, Christine Cooper, Wallace Taylor, Frances Day, Mary Jo Palmer, and Linda Parsons. Congrats to Jordan and Casey (Chrisman) Covey for tying the knot! The Bicknell Clan loves like- family! There were about 40 people that joined the “Walking for West Women Team” at the “ Walk to End Alzheim- er’s March” in Lexington on Sunday, September 29th. Braden Davis started the team along with other family members, including Pattie West Richardson to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s. They lost seven family members to the disease. Kennedy Flynn and Kaylee Isfort were asked to assist the West family and as Family, Career and Community Leader members were excited to help with fundraising and spread awareness. The West family raised $3700.00 for Alzheimer’s research through various means such as shirt sales, homemade apple butter and selling purple bracelets. ABOVE RIGHT: Judge Wallace Taylor, signed a Proclamation declaring September 27th, 2013 “Alzheimer’s Awareness Day,” in Estill County. Kennedy Flynn and Kaylee Isfort went to the Courthouse to pick up the document for use in their Family, Career and Community Leaders of America project. Also, there were members of the West Family who were organizers of the “Walk for West Women Team.” They have been raising funds and organized a team for the walk in Lexington on Sunday. Team members included Braden Davis, team leader, Regina Davis and Pattie West Richardson. In addition, there were several staff mem- bers from the courthouse who wearing purple to show awareness for Alzheimer’s.

Brandenburg and ArvinTo marry on October 19
