OMC has created an updated Waste Minimization Plan, which will have an impact upon nearly all of our coworkers. A very large component of this plan is iden-tifying and working with a local or regional recycling company. Sometimes, a company’s geographical loca-tion imposes some restriction on the level and amount of recycling one can employ. OMC has broken through that barrier with exciting news.

Your EH&S Program has establish a cooperative busi-ness agreement with a local all waste streams recycling company; Missouri e-Waste, of Ozark, MO, who will visit our hospital periodically to pick up every designat-ed waste for recycling, and they will do this for free.

Additionally, Missouri e-Waste will pay OMC by the pound for each type of recyclable; e-waste (computers, destroyed hard drives, flat screen monitors) will bring a different price as compared to plastic bottles, aluminum or steel cans. Furniture will be paid at a different rate as compared to surgical Blue Wrap or cardboard or medi-cal equipment, such as beds or broken carts.

Missouri e-Waste is certified and/or registered with;

FDA registered for medical equipment/device recycling,

Is the only company in Southwest Missouri that is Level 3 certified by the State of Missouri for Asset Recovery,

DNR registered (044994),EPA certified (MOR000548511),e-Steward downstream certified,Missouri Voluntary Tiered Registration, Level 2,GSA certified (approved for government contracts),DUNS number,SAM registration,NAICS code.

We look forward to a long working relationship with their company and providing a source of recycling reve-nue to the OMC organization.

Parking Update Due to the changes in traffic flow and the new construction project beginning on April 01, 2018, OMC employees will no longer be able to park on 6th street, effective Mon-day, March 19, 2018. This should give everyone a chance to speak to their employees who usually park on the street. OMC is working to add additional parking in behind the current Alaska street parking lot, we will try to have gravel placed in the new area by the first of next week if possible. Staff can park along the Tio Street located next to the Alaska street parking lot if there are parking spaces available, please be respectful of each other when parking.

In the coming months with the new construction and street projects all the growth will put pressure on our campus parking facilities, therefore, please be respectful of each other during this building progress. Please be advised that all OMC employees must continue to adhere to the rules regarding parking on campus and where there are designated parking spaces set aside for employees only. Persons are expected to park only in their designated parking areas, unless authorized to do otherwise. Thank you for your understanding during our building progress.

You Rock! These individuals’ You Rock cards were shared with Public Relations:

Brenda Gray- OB/GYN

“I was seen as a patient in OB last night for contractions, and I just want to brag on an employee that worked that

shift. The care I received was nothing short of excellent. Brenda was awesome. She explained everything very well.

I was having a lot of pressure and she came and checked on me, let me know everything that was going on, and she

actually got on the floor to show me how to do a pelvic rock. She was very kind, compassionate, and you can tell that

she truly cares about everyone. There was never a time that she was rude, short, or didn’t have a smile on her face. I

had made a comment that I would feel bad if it was for no reason and she let me know that its better safe than sorry.

She said to me, “ I’m glad you came in to get checked out, let me know what I can do for you.” Those words stick

with a person. She made me her priority. She let me know that she was going to do what it took to take care of me.

Her customer service was awesome! She’s excellent. She never once treated me like I was a stranger and I appreciate

all she did for me. I hope she’s one of the nurses in the room when I deliver.”
