Award-winning local author Stuart MacBride will be discussing his new novel, The Missing and the Dead, at Banff Academy, on Friday, January 16, at 6:30 pm. Tickets for the event are free and available from Macduff Library (limited to two tickets per person). MacBride’s latest book is part of the Detective Inspector Logan MacRae series, and is set in Banffshire, where the body of a young girl is washed up on a beach. The novel includes many local refer-ences and the front cover features the Tarlair open air swimming pool. Stuart was born in Dumbarton and brought up in Aberdeenshire, where he still lives. He has published many popular crime novels and has a huge fan base both locally and internation-ally. There will be a book signing after the talk, and copies of the novel will be available to buy at the venue through WH Smith. Stuart’s novels are available to borrow from Aberdeenshire Libraries, in both digital format and hard copy.
