Kayaking We escaped the torrential rain of Glastonbury to a sunny Weymouth and a windy but welcoming harbour. A fantastic group who worked well together and were the model of good manners. The afternoon began with an expedition across the harbour then we returned to the shelter of the wall to play balance games and have a go at a huge seal launch. Everyone braved the high drop and no one capsized!

EAL Trip to Crealy Adventure Park
I had a great time on Friday when we went on our
EAL trip. First we played inside and I went on some
slides and played with my brother. Then we went
on the train roller-coaster. It was fun and went very
fast. I loved it!
Then we went on the Twister. It was a bit scary because it
kept spinning around and I thought it might come off. After
that I went on the pirate ship. Mrs Trevis wouldnt come on
that with us because she was scared!
Soon it was time for lunch. I wasnt very hungry. After lunch
we went back on the pirate ship, but it had shut
down so we went on the train. Then we went on
the log flume and I got very wet. I sat in the front
and the water splashed all over me! We also
had a go on the water slides. They were
fun too.
Soon it was time to go back to school. It was a really good trip!

Summer Concert Its nearly the end of year and the Music department held our annual Summer Concert last Friday with performances from eight of our major ensembles. The standard of music was high and all performances were polished. The theme was Top of the Pops which was complemented by a wonderful assortment of food inspired by popular British foods like fish and chips.
The Millfield Prep orchestra opened the evening with the dramatic main theme from Tchaikovskys Swan Lake and a Harry Potter medley which began with a haunting melody played on the glockenspiel followed by the contrasting, upbeat Funkytown and I got You (I feel Good) performed by Wind Band. Guitar Group introduced some folky classics to the evening by performing Poor, Wayfaring Stanger and the ever popular Scarborough Fair. Junior Choir performed Counting Stars by OneRepublic, including a surprise party popper moment at the end. This directly preceded our talented Year 2 Violinists who gave a very professional performance of The Irish Washerwoman and Hot Dogs and Ketchup Please! Senior Choir performed the popular songs Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and the Axis of Awesomes amusing Four Chord Song - written to prove that pop music often just recycles the same chords repeatedly, with special theatrical appearances from our Year 8 leavers. Percussion Ensemble performed A La Samba and the catchy theme tune from The Pink Panther. The evening closed with the song Valerie by The Zutons, performed by our own Millfield Prep Rock Band.

A Shakespearean Mash Up Part 2 Monday 27 June at 6.30pm in the Recital Hall.
We would like all children to stay in school prior to the performance at 6.30pm
They should attend 4.00-5.00pm clubs (unless they are wet and messy). Children without clubs will watch a DVD in the Junior Hall
At 5.00pm we will all go to supper and then we will be changing and making preparations for the performance, so there will be no 5.00-6.00pm clubs that evening
Prior to the performance on Monday evening there will be drinks and nibbles in the Music Department foyer and a busker to entertain you. We are asking that you make a donation for refreshments and all money raised will go to the NSPCC, our charity this term.

Year 3 Investigate Forces Year 3 have been investigating forces this week. We were working with elastic bands to see how far they would push a box along a table. When we stretched the elastic band by different amounts the distance changed.
