Library book returns As the library will be closed for stocktake from the end of next week, could parents please ensure that all school library books are returned to the library no later than Thursday, 1 st December. SRC Cake Day Thank you to the parents and caregivers who sent cakes to school for the SRC Cake Day on Thursday. It was a resounding success with $76 being raised from the sale of the yummy cakes, biscuits and slices provided. Thanks for your support. Parents and/or Carers transporting students A change in departmental guidelines requires that parents/carers transporting children to and/or from excursions are required to bring their current drivers licence and car registration papers to the school office so that they can be sighted by the Principal. Active After School SportThank you to all the students who participated so well in Tae Kwon Do and Cricket this term. Last Wednesday was the final day for Tae Kwon Do while Cricket will finish next Tuesday the 29th November.

Garden GlovesUnfortunately the garden clean up has been delayed due to wet weather. The project will start as soon as the sun reappears, so If you haven’t already provided a pair of suitable gloves for your child to wear please send them in early next week.

MultilitCongratulations to Shayne Lombardi for his great work in completing all levels of Word Attack Skills in Multilit.Congratulations to Cheyenne Russell for a fantastic effort and achieving 100 sight words in Multilit.

School AccountsParents are reminded that outstanding accounts need to be paid to the office as soon as possible, as the 30th of November is the end of our school financial year. Overdue accounts were posted last week, if there are any problems with these accounts please come to the office and talk with Lorraine.

MEAT RAFFLEDon’t forget the meat raffle Thursday nights at Millfield Shop. Tickets can be purchased all day Thursday. This is a fundraiser for school so

please support this activity.Tickets are only $1 each or 3 for $2

This year we have seven students in Grade 5. In 2012 there will be 2 captains and 2 vice captains. Students who nominate are to prepare a speech of no more than a minute which will be performed at the weekly assembly on Tuesday 29th November. No props are to be used in the speech. Students may also create an A4 sized poster to help with their campaign.Students from Year 1 to 6 will vote by circling 2 names on the ballot paper straight after the speeches. The two students with the most votes will become captains and the next two will become vice-captains. The results will be announced at Presentation Day on Monday 12th December. Good luck to all Year 5s!

When in home classes, two students each session are selected to receive a ‘Strive to Succeed’ sticker. Stickers are accumulated and students are recognised at assembly when they reach the following targets in a calendar year…0 – Bronze Certificate 40 – Silver Certificate 60 – Gold Certificate 80 – Platinum CertificateBronze Awards

CANTEEN DONATIONS PLEASE!Donations of fresh fruit or vegetables or anything that fits into the “Green” category to the canteen are very welcome.

TACO DAYThe next Red day in the canteen will be Taco Day – more details will be available soon.

UNIFORM SHOPWe have purchased more small/medium bucket hats and size 6 dresses, if you are waiting on any of these items please contact Bernie. The uniform shop will operate on the first Friday of the month only.If you have any urgent uniform needs or are unable to get to the school on the day the shop is open please call Bernie on 4998 1596, she’s happy to arrange a time that’s suitable for you.
