The most important safety measure we have to consider is the number of adults on the school site. For this reason, we are planning three shorter presentaon assemblies, rather than one longer whole-school assembly. This way, parents, grandparents, friends and fans can all aend to watch students receive awards for each class. Our assemblies will be as follows: 9:30 - 10:25 (approximately) = K/1M, 1/2O 10:45 - 11:40 (approximately) = 2/3T, 3/4S 12:00 - 1:00 (approximately) = 4/5K, 5/6W A leer was sent home at the end of last week to advise you if your child is receiving an award. Adults are asked to enter the school grounds via the three gates outside the administraon building. The exit will be via the double gates by the canteen. We are required to have digital records of everyone coming onto the site, so well ask you to scan a bar code using your phone, or a member of staff will digitally sign you in using an iPad. Adults are respecully asked to refrain from mingling with each other or with children from other families, and to sit in seats 1.5m from non-household members. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer refreshments at the end of the assembly, as we usually do. Im sure everyone is aware by now that these rules apply to all schools across NSW. They are direcves provided by the Departments of Health and Educaon, and we must comply with them. Thank you for your support. HOLLYWOOD, HERE WE COME! One of the films made by students in Mrs Crumps extension wring groups has been chosen as a finalist in the Nextwave Youth Film Compeon. The compeon was open to young people between the ages of 10 and 25 from all over regional Australia. Entries came from 25 different schools in 5 different states, so this is an incredible achievement, and a tesmony to the inspiraon provided by Mrs Crump and the effort of the students as they collaborate to produce very high quality work which is being recognised around Australia. Congratulaons to all the students who took part in this learning experience, and parcularly to Luca, Natalie, Olivia, Charlie, Ben S and Hugo whose film, The Robbery’, will be screened in Coffs Harbour in April 2021. YEAR 6 CAMP - A GREAT WAY TO END THE YEAR Right now, Year 6 students are enjoying camp at Midginbil. I had a great day with them yesterday, negoang the low ropes problem solving course, and cooling down during acvies by the creek. The excellent behaviour of the students is bringing credit to our school and to themselves. PREMIERS SPORTING CHALLENGE All our students achieved a Bronze Award in the Premiers Sporng Challenge this year for parcipang in school fitness, sports lessons and carnivals. Some students made an even greater effort and have been rewarded by Silver, Gold and Diamond Awards for the amount of physical acvity they did at home during the challenge.
