Congratulations to Trina BennettTrina is a member of our senior staff and teaches in TePouahi R15. What are we congratulating her for? Well,

Trina was successful with her application for a UNISYS

Kidz Connect Award. The award gives her $1,000 to

complete an e-learning project with her class. Trina willteach animation skills to her class using a Human Rightslens with a focus on conflict resolution between indigenous

peoples and dominant cultures. Each child will use a green

screen and a mini webcam to tell their stories. They willmanipulate characters and screens and show their

processes to a wider audience. Programmes will be in

Maori and English and are likely to involve videoconferencing with people from other parts of the world.

A rare opportunityOn 2nd June children will have an opportunity to hearGeoff Knights story. Geoff's story captivates school

students and gives them an insight into the choices they are

making right now. Geoff has enormous influence withschool children that stems from his rough start in life, roles

on t elevision and his unmistakable talent for singing that

    delights students and teachers alike.

Geoff tells his story from the heart, and this means school

students hear Geoff's messages, which include: Make the most of your opportunities at school

    With bullying, everyone loses

Have the courage to live your dream.

Geoff will share his story and singing in Trinity Hall on

Tuesday 2nd June 12:45 1:25 pm. Entry will be by way ofa gold coin donation.

Last week Renwick Two went to the Public Library to hear Diana Neild

read her 2 books about a pig family! She also presented us with afree autographed copy of one of her books.

RememberWe are aiming at reducingthe amount of gladwrap we

use and to encourage the useof paper instead as it can be

    sent home to be composted.

The reason for doing this is

    to reduce our carbon

    footprint and to Share the
