KOLHAPUR, Oct 13:

The last rites of martyrSattapa Mahadev Patil (24),who was killed at Keran sector,along the line of control, inSrinagar, when Pakistani intrud-ers opened fire on Indian Armytroops were performed heretoday.

Martyr Patil's body, arrivedby a special Air Force plane inMumbai yesterday, The bodywas taken towards to his nativeplace at Masa-Belesadi village,of Kagal Tehsil of this districtby special Army vehicles. 15thRashtriya Rifles RegimentChief Vimalkumar Verma,Cornerls Vijaykumar and AlexMohan, Subhedar Pratap Sing,Nail Subhedar Ajit Patil wereaccompanied the martyr's body.

In Masa-Belesadi, thousandsof people, who were awaitingPatil's body, shouted out sloganswith 'Sattapa Patil AmarRahe','Pakistan Murdabad', whenit arrived around 0900 hours.

Later, the body was kept athis home for the last 'Darshan'of his family members and rela-tives. Then a procession, wastaken out on a vehicle decoratedwith flowers.

After passing through themain roads of the village, the

procession reached the funeralplace near a Temple at Westdirection of the village.

In the presence of large num-ber of people, Army jawans andpolice gave salute by firingrounds in the air. Patil's fatherand elder brother cremated thedeported soul at 1100 hours,after completion of all religiousrites which were performed atthe funeral place.

Minister of State of Home,Satej Patil, Sanjay Mandlik,President of Kolhapur ZillaParishad, Sanjay Ghatage, formerMLA, Navid Mushrif,RajaramMane, District Collector,Shantaram Sangade, TehsildarKagal, Mohini Patil, RegionalOfficer, Army officers were pres-ent for the funeral. (UNI)

Last rites of Keran martyr performed BSP MLA's wife killed by stepsonsNEW DELHI, Oct 13:

The wife of BSP MLA from Uttar Pradesh Haji Aleem waskilled allegedly by her two stepsons here over a property dispute,Delhi Police today said.

A senior police official said that the Bulandshahr MLA's 40-year-old wife Rehana was murdered allegedly by Danish and Anas- his two sons from his first wife -- and their driver Mohd Nadeem.

"Nadeem (30) has been arrested this morning from ShaheedNagar, Seemapuri Border here while her two stepsons are yet to bearrested," the official said.

Rehana, the second wife of Aleem, was found murdered onOctober 9 morning at her New Jafrabad residence in North EastDelhi while he was out of India for Haj.

The official said that Aleem returned the next day and was inBulandshahr during Rehana's last rites.

According to police, breakthrough in the case came followingNadeem's arrest who disclosed to them the entire plot of the grue-some murder.

"Relations between Aleem and his first wife Kehkasha and hertwo sons Danish and Anas were not cordial. Aleem often used tohave argument with them over petty issues.(PTI)
