Atlantic Music Expo – OAME terá lugar no cen-tro da cidade da Praia,capital de Cabo Verde:as suas conferências, asoportunidades dos en-contros de negócios, omercado profissional eos showcases, irão ofe-
recer um cenário per-feito para profissionaisinternacionais da mú-sica, artistas de CaboVerde e do exterior, tro-carem experiências econhecimentos, expan-direm os seus contac-tos e actividades, edescobrirem o país. OAtlantic Music Expoestá agendado para os3 dias que antecedemo Kriol Jazz Festival,para permitir aos dele-gados a possibilidadede desfrutarem de umaampla oferta de desco-bertas músicais.

It is committed tobeing a crossroads forpositive exchanges anda central point forspreading the vision ofcreolisation – heart ofthe Cape Verdean iden-tity – and to keepingpeace in the region.
Cape Verde and Music -Obviously, the archipe-lago and its music areintrinsically tied. Its ar-tists and diversity of
styles give Cape Verdethis strong and uniquemusical identity.
Atlantic Music Expo -AME will take place inthe center of the capi-tal Praia: its confe-rences, networkingmeetings, professionalmarket and showcaseswill offer a perfect set-ting for internationalmusic professionals, ar-tists from Cape Verdeand abroad to network,expend their contactsand activities, and dis-cover the country.

Dez Ilhas no meio de três continentes, uma língua ma-terna cruzada por palavras de todas as línguas; umarquipélago seco, isto é, nem cabo nem verdes; uma
nação onde a música tradicional é feita com violino epiano e guitarra de dez cordas, mas também com tambor e cimboa
(instrumento monocorde tocado com um arco).
Entre géneros musicaiscomo o Funaná, o Ba-
tuco, a Morna e a Cola-deira estão também a
Mazurca, a Contra-dança, a Valsa e o
Samba. A literatura insular éplena de saudade, de diálogo com o mare o céu, e marcada pela falta de chuva epelo imaginário maravilhoso dos trópi-cos. A nossa pintura é uma narrativa arco-íris. A nossa gastronomia é gosto detodos as rotas humanas, desde o sal, àcana-de-açúcar, a pimenta, o milho, oarroz, o peixe, o café, o vinho, o queijo, olicor, o grogue. Ela compila o refinadoque existe em todas as línguas.
Eis Cabo Verde: país que está naorigem da crioulização domundo, território marítimo,passe a expressão, pois está feito de 4033 km de terra contra700 mil km de mar. Nação global e diasporizada, pois que
conformada de 470 mil habitantes e de quase um milhão de emi-grantes e descendestes destes espalhados pelo mundo;
gente caracterizada por sua morabeza, essa expres-são de bem receber e servir, de partilhar, de falarcom o sorriso, de amar o diferente e a diferença, deviver a eternidade com a mesma alegria e a mesma
celebração quotidiana do casamento entre a géne-sis e o apocalipse.
Em síntese, Cabo Verde é uma cultura onde o quase nadaé convertido diariamente em quase tudo.
AME Cabo Verde : um evento concebido com base no amor, na alma e,por isso, gerado nas águas do Atlântico. Cabo Verde foi a primeira plata-
forma transatlântica para o comércio de escravos. A vontade do Governode Cabo Verde é converter o mesmo espaço num lugar de intercâmbios po-sitivos baseados na música e na cultura. As raízes das músicas das Améri-cas estão profundamente cravadas em Africa: blues, jazz, musica caribenhae latino-americana são descendentes dessas misturas.

Ten islands caught in-between three continents; a mo-ther tongue embracing words from all languages; a dryarchipelago – nor Cape, nor Verde. A nation where traditionalmusic springs out the sounds of violin, piano, ten string guitar,but also from the rhythms of drums beats and of one string cim-boa.
A wide variety of music styles such as funana, batuco,morna and coladera, or else mazurka, contredanse, waltzand samba. Full of sodade and teinted by the endless dia-logues with the sky and the sea, the insular literature is stamped with thelack of rain and the tropical fantasy. Its painting is a narrative rainbow.And gastronomy reflects the richness of flavors and tastes that fol-low the path of men to gather in Cabo Verde – salt, sugarcane, pep-per, corn, rice, fish, coffee, wine, cheese, liquor, rum… atrue compilation of in terms of tongues refinement.
Such is Cabo Verde, the country that originatedthe world’s creolisation - A territory that can becalled coastal considering its ratio of 700000km² of waters and for only 4033 km² of land. Aglobalized and scattered nation, the diasporaspread around the world representing two thirdof the total million and a half Cabo Verdeans.
A population animated by Morabeza in which are expres-sed a sense of welcoming and sharing, the smiling word, thelove of difference, the joy of living eternity joyfully day after day like weddingsin the Genesis or the Apocalypse.
It is the soul of Cabo Verde and the reason why we have created this event loca-ted at sea in the Atlantic area.
Cabo Verde was the first transatlantic turntable of slavery trade. The Ministry ofCulture is now willing to make it a positive exchange point based upon musicand culture.American music is largely rooted to Africa: Blues, Jazz Caribbean and Latin Ame-rican music were born from these mix.

Its objectives are to consolidate and coordinatethe continental music market and promote and facilitate circulation.During the last 12 months, the Forum was presented at major interna-tional music events, it received a great response and immense interest.The second edition of AME will initiate a further step towards the esta-blishment of the Forum.INAUGURAÇÃO - No AME de 2013, nasceu a ideia de um Fórum de MúsicaAfricana. Seus objetivos são consolidar e coordenar o mercado de mú-sica do continente, promover e facilitar a circulação.
