Rev. Jimmy Lancaster, Pastor MBC Beginning Sunday, we’ll celebrate the Season of Advent. Advent is about restoration

and redemption. It is about our longing for God to rescue us and draw us back unto

Himself. In our world—the Christmas season is referred to as the “holiday rush” and

is marked by a frantic dash from one thing to another. Inevitably, we feel the push of

impatient shoppers and the blitz of our hectic schedules. For many - pausing to

celebrate Advent seems counter-cultural...for it calls us to wait

and hope. Let us resist the urge to rush through this season

and instead, let’s slow down, and take precious time to look for

the “babe”. Advent invites us to enter into the story of the

children of Israel and share in their longing for a Savior...who

would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting

Father, Prince of Peace.

Missions Mailbox

Are you planning on sending Christmas cards to your fellow church

members? Then bring your CARDS to the church beginning Sunday,

Dec. 1st and drop them off in the Narthex. Simply make a donation

of 25 cents per card to our CHRISTMAS MISSIONS OFFERING! The

MBC Mission Mailbox will be open for delivery through Dec. 22nd.

On Sunday - December 8, to “kick-off” our Christmas Missions Offering, we’re having a Party for Jesus. In the morning - we’ll enjoy some goodies from Dewey’s before Sunday School and that evening - our children will enjoy the opportunity to decorate the tree in the fellowship hall!!

The Yadkinville’s Town Council is hosting a special reception to honor Phillip Graham on Monday, Dec 2nd at The Front Yard - 240 Main Street (adjacent to the Yadkin Arts Center) from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. Recently, we’ve learned of an on-line resource that

provides practical resources for anyone -

couples and families, senior adults and youth,

grandparents & parents; especially for

those interested in growing in their personal

relationship with Jesus Christ.

It’s called RightNow Media. In the coming weeks,

we will begin to share how you can “plug into”

this on-line tool and be encouraged in your

daily walk or find help in your time of need.

We want you to have access to this entire library

that has over 2,000 video resources. This is just

another way the leadership of our church seeks to

equip and empower you to live out your faith

each and every day!

Thank you to all who gave $ 555 to the Baptist Children’s Home Thanksgiving Offering. The families and children who are ministered to through BCH

will certainly feel BLESSED!

Recently, our church voted to purchase the Hodges property {1548 Shacktown Rd} by cashing in a CD and having a “campaign” through the end of November to pay-off the

remaining balance and to provide the funds needed for repairs & other related expenses. To date - we’ve received $ 23,600.

Copies of the 2014 Proposed Ministry Budget are available on the MBC mailbox table for you to pick-up. An explanation of the budget allocations is on the backside. The budget of $ 230,576 reflects a 3.4% increase {$ 7,613 for the year & $ 146.40 per week}. If you have any questions or areas which need clarification, the Finance Committee will be available for the next two Sunday mornings (Dec 1 and 8) in the Sanctuary from 9:30 - 10 am to answer your questions. We will have a special called conference immediately following our morning worship on Sunday - Dec 8 to vote on adopting the 2014 Proposed Ministry Budget.
