From 1925 to 1930 a holiday ‘camp’, (really inside a large barn & not under canvas), was held at

Seatoller in Borrowdale. The record of the six summer ‘camps’, & of some smaller Easter

parties, is contained in this book. The book began as a bare record of meals & routine; then

developed into a more elaborate book of routes. It may someday be of interest. H.H. Symonds

The Spade Work of this Camp was largely

done at Easter 1925. A hard working party

built cubicles, dug drains, erected the range,

& cleaned out the place with its years’ deposit

of mud and dirt. Engineering feats of extreme

danger(!) and delicacy were carried through

without ____ __ & each of the following

contributed their quota of labour.
