Refund PoliciesSatisfaction GuaranteeThe Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department is committedto providing high quality recreation programs and services. Wewant everyone to be satisfied with their recreational experiences. If you are not completely satisfied with a program or service, youhave the following options:

1) Repeat the program at no charge2) Receive credit that can be applied to another program3) Receive a full refund

Our guarantee is based on fulfilling our promise of delivering the published expectations describing the particular program you registered for. If you are not satisfied, we kindly ask that you complete a refund request form (available atwww.recreation.lwd.org and in the Parks and RecreationDepartment office). This policy does not apply to Proesel ParkFamily Aquatic Center memberships.

General RefundsGeneral refunds will be granted when requested five full workingdays before the start of a program. All refunds are subject to a10% administrative fee and will be mailed in the form of a checkwithin 4-6 weeks of your request. Charges cannot be reversed oncredit cards.

Medical/RelocationWe do understand there may be times when illness, emergenciesand relocation force you to discontinue participation in a program.Should this occur, we ask that you submit proof of relocation or awritten medical explanation from a physician.

Department Cancelation In the event a program does not reach minimum enrollment, theclass may be canceled with full refunds issued. The administrativefee does not apply in these instances.

Rentals, Birthday Parties, Athletic & Picnic PermitsIf a rental is canceled three weeks before the scheduled date, a full refund less a 10% administrative fee is issued. If a rental iscanceled 20 days or less before the scheduled date, a 50% refundless a 10% administrative fee will be issued.

Lincolnwood Social ClubRefunds will be granted when requested two weeks before thestart of a program or date of a trip. All refunds are subject to a 10% administrative fee. You may request a refund in the form of a check (4-6 week processing time) or a credit to be used toward a future program. Requests due to illness, emergencies andrelocation will be handled as stated above in the General RefundPolicy. Refunds and/or credits will not be granted for requestsreceived after the two week deadline unless the vacancy can be filled.

Registration DeadlinesRegister for classes early! All of our classes have minimums and maximums. Please sign up two weeks prior to the start of a program to avoid cancellations.

Volunteer OpportunitiesServe your community with your time and talents! The Lincolnwood Parks and RecreationDepartment relies on many different kinds of volunteers throughout the year to make itsprograms and special events successful.

We are always looking for special event helpers for Family Fun Fest, Turkey Trot andHalloween Boo Bash.

Does gardening/flower care, newsletter assembly or park clean-up pique your interest? If so, we could use your help! For more information, please call the Parks and RecreationDepartment at (847) 677-9740.

Park WatchWe need your help keeping Lincolnwood’s parks clean, safe, and free of vandalism. If you find any broken equipment or have other safetyconcerns about the parks, please contact the Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department at (847) 677-9740. If you see vandalismoccurring in the parks, please contact the Lincolnwood Police by calling 911. The Parks and Recreation Department is committed toproviding a safe place for recreation and would prefer to enhance the quality of the parks rather than replace vandalized equipment.

M-NASR

M-NASR serves children, teens and adults with physical,mental and emotional disabilities, their families and theircommunity recreation agencies by providing a wide rangeof recreation and leisure programs for people of every age,talent and interest. M-NASR conducts programs yearround. Special services include summer camps, specialevents and holiday trips, after-school and day off fromschool programs. Participants enjoy dances, organizedclubs, dinners at local restaurants and the friendship andcompany of their peers, adding to the richness and joy oftheir lives in the process. M-NASR also offers inclusionservices to those who need assistance to participate inprograms offered by their park districts and/or recreationdepartment. M-NASR operates several accessible vehiclesand offers door-to-door transportation for many activities.

Liponi FoundationThe Liponi Foundation for Special Recreation was formed in 1990 to facilitate participation by children and adults with disabilities inrecreation programs. The Foundation was named after the late Sam Liponi who was generous in his support of the Maine-Niles Associationof Special Recreation and that work continues today through the efforts of the Foundation.

This not-for-profit, tax exempt body is governed by a board of trustees representing the communities that M-NASR serves: Des Plaines,Golf-Maine, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Niles, Park Ridge and Skokie. A dinner dance fundraiser is held in March and a mini-golf outing is held in August.

Members go on great day trips to places like museums and cultural centers, the theater and ballet aswell as area festivals and sporting events. YOUTH TENNIS CLASS LEVELSPee Wee This special program focuses on the fun andfundamentals of tennis. Kids will play tennis-related games tohelp teach the different tennis skills, including areas of the court,racquet control, ground strokes and volleys. Parents areencouraged to stay for the entire class.Beginner Ideal for ages 7+ just taking up tennis. Instructionincludes eye-hand coordination, racquet skills, stroke productionwith emphasis on ground strokes, serve, return and volleys. Court position, scoring and singles and doubles strategy areintroduced.Advanced Beginner You’ve had basic instruction but needfurther review of fundamentals. Stroke development, footwork,strategy and match play is included.Intermediate You’ve developed more dependable strokes, but still work to keep the ball in play with others at the same abilitylevel. You need to develop court coverage and judgment of ballspeed and direction. Classes include stroke development,cooperative consistency drills, footwork, strategy, play action drills and match play.

ADULT TENNIS CLASS LEVELSAdult Beginner You have no (or limited) tennis experience and are still working on getting the ball over the net. You may be familiar with scoring, but not with basic positions andprocedures of singles and doubles play. Instruction includesstroke production, basic court position and singles and doublesstrategy.Adult Advanced Beginner You have had some lessons butneed on-court experience. You have obvious stroke weaknesses,but are beginning to feel comfortable with singles and doublesplay. Classes include stroke development, footwork, courtposition, strategy and match play.Adult Intermediate 1 You have more dependable strokes, but can’t judge where the ball is going, have weak court coverage and are still working to keep the ball in play withothers of the same ability level. The rates are for rentals scheduled during general hours ofoperation. Rental fees increase and rental hours are subject tochange for holidays.

The Lincolnwood Community Center is the perfect venue for your next party. The facility is ideal for meetings, family parties,birthdays, showers, and any other type of social gathering.

The Community Center features two indoor spaces. The largeroom accommodates 200 guests; the small room holds 45. Both rooms feature gleaming hardwood floors and access to thebeautifully decorated outdoor patio with space for approximately35 guests.

Park Donation ProgramThe Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department’s park donation program is a wonderful way to honor the memory of a special individual or group or to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or special event. Trees and benches may be installed in the neighborhood parks listed below. The Village Arborist will assist in the selection and determine the planting location within the park desired for the species chosen.

• Trees are available for planting in the following parks: Central, Flowers, O’Brien,Centennial, Goebelt, Rossi, Columbia, Kenneth, G.G. Rowell, Drake, Kildare andSpringfield.
