Flames in the Postseason

80 Liberty Flames Baseball

After breaking ground in May of 1998, the Crowder/Muckel Field House wasopened during the 2002 campaign. Significant contributions from former FlamesDave Crowder and John Muckel, coupled with funding provided by LibertyUniversity toward the completion of the field house marked a major step in thegrowth of the Liberty Baseball program.

The facility, located adjacent to the third base line and attached to the homedugout, gives the Flames a home as nice as any in college baseball. The 13,000square foot building contains two retractable batting and pitching tunnels; home, visitor, coach and umpire locker rooms; a uniform laundry and storage room, atraining room, a weight room and a team room. The field house is also home tooffices for the Liberty baseball coaching staff and houses enclosed box seats forbooster club members, complete with a kitchen area and closed-circuit television.Public restrooms are also available in the field house.

This winter, the Liberty clubhouse was refurbished with a new Tuflex surfacefloor and new paint scheme. The indoor batting cages were also upgraded by theaddition of more lights.
