Tracking Liberty• The Flames dropped a 7-4 decision to Old Dominion in their last outing, Tuesday.• 1B/DH Ryan Seiz has a hit in each Liberty game this season. Tuesday, he collected three hits and drove in two RBIs against Old Dominion.• Liberty went 1-2 last weekend at the UNF Best Bet Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. After dropping its fi rst two games of the tournament, Liberty took an 11-6 decision from Richmond on Sunday for its fi rst victory of 2014.• The Flames banged out 16 hits and had seven players with two hits in their win, last Sunday.LHP Jared Lyons recorded the victory with 31/3 innings of relief. • RHP Ashton Perritt recorded his fi rst save with two scoreless innings in the victory, last Sunday. Liberty Baseball Stadium - the New Home of Flames Baseball• Liberty opened its home schedule by falling to Old Dominion, Tuesday. • The Flames posted a 25-9 mark in their fi rst season at the Liberty Baseball Stadium in 2013.• Liberty won its fi rst Big South Baseball Championship since 2000 at its new facility. The stadium served as the host site for the conference tournament.• After 34 years of playing at Worthington Stadium, the Flames christened the new facility, with a three-game sweep of Penn State, Feb. 23-24, and went on to win their fi rst seven games at the stadium.

Old Dominion Recap• The Flames fell to Old Dominion, 7-4, at Liberty Baseball Stadium, Tuesday afternoon.It was the home opener for Liberty.• Liberty had 12 hits, but left 12 men on base in the game.• DH Ryan Seiz had three hits and two RBIs in the contest. • SS Clay Keranen recorded his fi rst multi-hit game at Liberty with two hits. He also scored a run.• LHP Blake Fulghum had a solid outing. He gave up three runs on four hits over six innings. • The Flames made three errors, leading to two unearned runs.

Looking Back at UNF Tournament• Liberty took the fi nal game of its three games at the UNF Best Bet Tournament, this past. The Flames banged out 16 hits in an 11-6 win over Richmond.• Liberty had seven players have two hits apiece in Sunday’s victory. 1B Ryan Seiz was one of the seven and hit his fi rst home run of the season in the game. He also scored three times.• LHP Jared Lyons made two appearances this past weekend. Perritt Named to Preseason All-American Teams, Stopper Watch List• Outfi elder/pitcher Ashton Perritt was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason All-American teams as an utility player (two-way player).• Perritt was selected to the NCBWA’s second team and the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s third team.• This past Tuesday, he was listed among 50 pitchers on the 2014 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch list. The award goes annually to the top closer in college baseball.• He becomes Liberty’s second player to garner Preseason All-American honors from the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. The paper selected Aaron Grijalva as a Preseason All-American at fi rst base in 2008.
