Josephs brothers hated

him and refused to befriendly to him, because

they knew their fatherloved him more thanthem.

Un da, unoscomerciantes pasaron

por all. Los hermanosde Jos lo vendieron enveinte monedas de plata.Entonces loscomerciantes se lo

llevaron a Egipto.

One day, some traderscame by. Josephs

brothers sold him to thetraders for twentypieces of silver. Thetraders then tookJoseph to Egypt.

en la crcel, aunque erainocente y no haba hechoalgo malo. Pero aun en lacrcel Dios sigui ayudandoa Jos y dndole muestras

de su amor.

In Egypt, Joseph wasthrown in jail, even though

he had done nothing wrong.But even in jail God waswith Joseph and took careof him.

Algn tiempo despus, el jefe de loscoperosofendi al rey de Egipto. El reyse enoj con l y lo puso bajo vigilanciaen la crcel donde Jos estaba preso.

Una noche elcopero tuvo unsueo y lo conto aJos. En misueo yo vea una

planta de uvas quetena tres ramas. Yotena en mi mano lacopa del rey, as quetomaba las uvas ylas exprima en lacopa, y luego se ladaba al rey.

Jos le dijo, Las tres ramas sontres das. Dentro de tres das el rey tedevolver tu cargo, para que vuelvas a

servirle como su copero.

Some time later, the kings

cupbearer offended the king. Theking of Egypt was angry and threwthe cupbearer in jail.

One night thecupbearer had adream and told Josephabout it. He said, In

the dream I saw a

grapevine with threebranches. I had thekings cup in my hand,

so I took some grapes,squeezed the juice intothe cup and then gavethe cup to the king.

Joseph told thecupbearer, The three branches

are three days. After three days,the king will free you from prison

and give you back your job.

En tres das el sueo delcopero se cumpli. El reymand a sacarle de lacrcel y le devolvi sucargo.

After three days, the dreamcame true. The kingreleased the cupbearer from

jail and gave him back hisjob.

Un da, el rey se despertmolesto. Tuvo un sueo, peroninguno de sus hombres sabiospoda mostrarle su significado.

En un sueo, el rey vio sietevacas, gordas y bonitas.Entonces vio otras siete vacas,flacas y feas. De repente, lasflacas y feas se comieron a las

gordas y bonitas!

One day, the king was upset.He had a dream, but none of hiswise men could tell him what it

meant.In the dream, the king sawseven fat, beautiful cows. Thenseven skinny, ugly cowsappeared. The seven ugly,skinny cows ate the seven fat,

beautiful cows!

Tambin tuvo otro sueo.So que de un mismo tallobrotaron siete espigas,verdes y llenas de trigo. Trasellas brotaron otras sieteespigas, sin trigo ymarchitadas por el viento deldesierto. Y las espigassecas se tragaron a las

verdes y llenas de trigo!

The king also had anotherdream. In the dream, sevenfull heads of grain were

growing on a single stalk.Later, seven thin heads ofgrain appeared. The thinheads of grain thenswallowed the seven fullheads!

Entonces el copero seacord de Jos en la crcel.

Le conto al rey acerca de el.El rey mand llamar a

Jos, y de inmediato losacaron de la crcel.

The cupbearer thenremembered Joseph inprison and told the kingabout him.

The king commanded forJoseph to be brought to himand Joseph wasimmediately released from

jail.

Jos le dijo al rey: Los dossueos que tuvo Su Majestad sonuno solo. Dios le ha hecho saber a

usted lo que piensa

hacer. Las siete vacasgordas son siete aos,lo mismo que las sieteespigas llenas de trigo.Las siete vacas flacas y

feas que salieron detrsde aqullas son tambinsiete aos, lo mismoque las siete espigasmarchitas y resecadaspor el viento del

desierto. Ellas significansiete aos de hambre.

El rey le dijo aJos: Dios te ha dado aconocer todo esto. Y el rey puso a

Jos a cargo de todo su pas.

Joseph told the king, Your Majesty,both of your dreams mean the samething, and in them God has shown whatHe is going to do.

The seven good cowsand seven good headsof grain stand forseven years. Theseven skinny cows

that came up later alsostand for seven years,as do the seven badheads of grain. Thedreams mean therewill be seven yearswhen there won't beenough grain.

The king said to Joseph, God is the

one who has shown you these things.

The king then put Joseph in charge of

the whole kingdom of Egypt.

Jos junt todo el alimentoque se produjo en esos sieteaos y lo almacen.

Cuando ya no haba comida

en todo el pas, Jos abri losalmacenes y les vendi trigo alos egipcios. Era tanta laescasez de alimentos que detodos los pases iban a Egipto

para comprarle trigo a Jos.

For seven years, Josephgathered and stored all theextra grain.

When there was no food in

all of Egypt, Joseph opened thestorehouses and sold the grainto the Egyptians. The faminewas so bad that even peoplefrom other countries came to

Egypt to buy grain.

Los hermanos deJos tambin vinieron aEgipto para comprartrigo. No reconocieron a

Jos, su hermano. PeroJos los conoci a ellos.

Los hermanos deJos compraron trigo yse fueron de vuelta a

casa.

Josephs brothers

also came to Egypt tobuy grain. They did not

recognize Joseph, butJoseph recognizedthem.

The brothers boughtgrain and then went

back home.

Despus de un tiempo, ellostuvieron que volver a Egipto.

Cuando volvieron, Jos le

dijo a sus hermanos, Yo soyJos, el hermano que ustedesvendieron a los egipcios.

After some time, thebrothers returned to Egypt.

This time, Joseph told

them, I am Joseph, yourbrother, who you sold to theEgyptians.

The brothers were sosurprised that they did notknow what to say!

una manera maravillosa.Jacob, Jos y los

hermanos fueron reunidos enEgipto y toda la familia viviall en paz y abundancia.

Joseph then told them,Dont be afraid. God sent me

here ahead of you to save youin a wonderful way.

Jacob, Joseph and thebrothers were reunited inEgypt. Jacob, Josephs

brothers and their familiesmoved to Egypt and lived
