The fire department will visit us, and we will do many activities in correlation to fire safety. Homework We are reviewing the letters and sounds that we have learned since the beginning of the year. Please cut out the letter flashcards and practice them as much as possible (do not return to school). Make fun games out of them, bring them with you in the car, etc. The quicker they can learn the sounds, the quicker they can begin to read and write words. If the letters/sounds are not challenging, start on the sight words that we’re learning. Teachers Note Thank you to all my parents (or grandparents) who volunteer to come and help in the classroom. If you can’t make your scheduled day, please email or send a note. If you need to change your day or time, again, I’d love to accommodate your schedule. MORNING! You will need to make arrangements to have your child here at

school at 9:10 and picked up at 11:45. There will be no bus home from Johnson for our

class.

Tema de la Semana Próxima semana hablaremos sobre seguridad con fuego. Los bomberos nos vamos a visitar y hablaremos de las precauciones que debemos hacer para evitar quemaduras y fuegos.

Tarea Estamos repasando las letras que hemos aprendido en

clase. Por favor de recortar las tarjectas de letras y guardarlas en casa. Esos son para practicar las letras en

casa. Es tan importante que practique los nombres y sonidos de las letras con su hijo/a en casa. Lo más rápido que puedan aprender los sonidos que hacen las letras, lo más rápido puedan aprender leer y escribir palabras.

Cosley ZooLa excursión al zoológico de Cosley (en Wheaton, IL) será el jueves, el 17 de octubre, desde 9:15 hasta 11:45 por la mañana. Miraremos a una presentación de los trabajadores del Zoo, y pasaremos alrededor del Zoo también. Por favor, entregue la hoja verde firmada (parte por abajo) y los $4! Están debido por el próximo viernes! NO HAY SERVICIOS DE BUS PARA NUESTRA CLASE.
