INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Welcome

Last week we welcomed Sebastian Walker and his family to our school. Seb is in Year 3 and has come to us from Bathurst. Seb has already settled into our class and I’m sure he will enjoy being part of our school community. Welcome Seb.

IN OUR SCHOOL

Welcome to Mopsy and

Chloe

This week Mopsy and Chloe have come to live at our school. They

already have a big ‘fan base’. Tayla is doing a great job of coordinating their care and ‘pat time’.

K-2 News—Stripey the Emu Chick

On Friday the K-2 class went to the Canberra

Theatre to watch Stripey the Emu Chick. We were entertained by Barry and Bougainvillea. The show was interactive and all students, teachers and parents had to get up and have a go too.

We went to the Arboretum for lunch.

Thank you to the parents who came with us.

Enrolments for 2016 Our anticipated student enrolments for 2016 are to be lodged with the Department of Education on 5th August 2015, and your support is greatly appreciated. We are asking all

parents of children who will be newly enrolling at JPS in 2016 to bring in their enrolment application as soon as possible.

Don’t forget to collect Woolies Earn and Learn stickers when you shop at any Woolies store. They

can be placed in the box at school or at Gino’s. Let’s encourage the whole Jugiong community to collect for us so that we can get some new resources for the children

REMINDER: I am very excited to present “How 2 Learn” to parents on Monday 3

rd August at 5.30pm.

Please come along.

This is a great poster not just for the students but also for adults to reflect on too.

Jugiong Paper Plane Competition! On Monday, 3rd August, we will be holding our Year 3-6, Paper Plane Competition.

There will be two events:

Longest Distance

Longest Airtime

The students have been researching and designing their perfect paper planes.

We will be holding the competition in the Jugiong Community Hall at 2pm. We would love the parents and community to come along and support our students.

Students who are interested in qualifying for the 2015 Young Scientist Paper Plane Challenge, being held at Sydney University on Saturday, 29th August, please have a look at the website and let me know.

www.paperplanes.youngscientist.com.au

Looking forward to a fun filled paper plane throwing afternoon on Monday! Thanks, Karina Lenehan
