Surveying our School
At Jugiong, we place emphasis on
gaining feedback from all members
of the school community, including
students, parents and teachers, to
gain deeper insight into how we can
improve our operations to enhance
student learning.
Each year we seek feedback through
consultation and surveys to assist us to
foster positive relations between the
school and the community.
The surveys provide feedback to our
school about the extent to which the
school community feel the school
supports learning and positive
behaviour and promotes a safe and
inclusive environment.
Today is the first step in our journey to
implement the KidsMatter Primary
framework. This is an Australian
initiative that aims to improve
children’s mental health and
wellbeing. It recognises the important
role that parents and carers play in
the lives of their children and
encourages effective working
relationships between school staff,
parents and carers as well as the
broader community.
This survey is anonymous and seeks
your perspectives on the school’s
current activities to promote student
health and wellbeing. The information
gathered from this survey will assist
the school in developing and
implementing the KidsMatter
framework to best suit the needs of
our students and school community.
For further information about this
survey, and KidsMatter please read
the information sheet attached to
the survey which has been sent home
today.
These surveys are anonymous and you do not need to put your name on
them.
Please return your completed surveys
by Friday November 25 and be in the
draw to win a box of chocolates.

many resources to help you guide
your child through their schooling,

videos, explanations of content,
jargon busters, educational games
and tips and tricks for helping your

Welcome
Today we welcomed Luis and his
mum Ana to Jugiong School. Jugiong
is a long way from Perth and even
further from Columbia, but we know
you’ll love living in our beautiful
valley and being part of this great
community.
Have a great week.

A Crunch & Sip tip!
FOR SOMETHING NEW, TRY
HONEYDEW!
A few chopped up pieces of honeydew
are a great idea for Crunch & Sip as they
are full of Vitamin C, potassium and fibre.
Give them to your kids when the flesh is
ripe and green in colour as this is when they are at
their sweetest!

Jugiong Community Meeting Called
by Hilltops Administrator
A Jugiong Community meeting has
been called for Tuesday, 29th
November, 2016 at 7.00pm in the
Jugiong Community Hall.
During the recent reconstitution of
the Jugiong Advisory Group by
Hilltops Council, four nominations
were received for the committee.
Although this satisfies the terms of the
Constitution, Hilltops Council is
interested in expanding the
Committee to a broader range of
community members to ensure that
all Jugiong residents have an equal
opportunity to be actively involved
in the planning and governance
processes in Jugiong.
“The meeting aims to clarify Hilltops
Council’s role in Jugiong and to
facilitate discussions between
interested community members
regarding membership on a Section
355 committee, the funds that are
currently held by the Jugiong
Advancement Group, and the
community priorities for how those
funds will be spent within the Jugiong
village,” explained Hilltops Council
Administrator, Wendy Tuckerman.
Council encourages all interested
Jugiong community members to
come and participate in this
meeting and voice their opinions,
concerns and wishes for the future
planning of the village of Jugiong.
If you have any questions regarding
this meeting, please contact Council
on (02) 6380 1200.
Never stop doing your best just because someone doesn’t give you credit.
