Please read and enjoy the gift from our Parish Family “Resisting Happiness.” There is a wealth of information in the book and it provides a wonderful way to start the New Year. If you are reluctant and resistant to reading the book, start with chapter 15, “Falling in Love.” Chapter 15 discusses lifelong learning and how continuous learning helps promote excellence. Make a New Year’s resolution to give yourself a gift by reading this book! You’ll be glad you did. These tremendously moving words from our Christmas song 'O Come All Ye Faithful' (Adeste Fideles) encourage us to continue to pray for guidance in hearing and accepting the calls to come and adore Christ our Lord through our vocations. We thank God for the opportunity to serve in the vocations to which God calls us. Whether we are called to share our adoration through vocations to the priesthood and religious life or lay ecclesial ministry, we pray for thoughtful and faithful compliance. By saying ‘yes’ to our chosen vocations, we share in bringing joy to the world so that we all can come and adore Christ our Lord throughout the year! Christmas Parties Aren't Over Yet - the Best is Yet to Come!! —Just as the holidays are

starting to wind down, preparations have begun for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Christmas Party on January 8 following the 11AM Mass in the Parish Life Center. There will be food, games, singing - don't

miss it. Let it be one of the first dates you circle on the 2017 calendar!!!

IHM PRAYER MINISTRY—Contact Brenda Persons at 271-6184 if you would like the prayer team to pray for you or a loved one who is ill or undergoing surgery.

MARY’S KITCHEN: Winter Hours 3:00 to 5:00 PM— Many, many thanks to all our benefactors. All Food Pantries and Soup Kitchens throughout the area have experienced cuts in their grants. Mary’s Kitchen’s grant from the Regional Food Bank has been reduced to $425 a YEAR - a sign of the increased need everywhere. We are so grateful to our parish and others for the support we receive that enables us to still provide nourishing meals every Monday for our guests.

Schuyler Bakery provides us with the best bread and rolls in town. We also receive bread and baked goods from Freihofer’s. And – lest we forget – Lauraine Fitzgerald provides us with a fabulous dessert every Monday that is the crown-ing touch to the meals we serve.

Please Note Following Holiday Schedule: The parish business office will be closed Monday, December 26th and also Friday, December 30th thru Monday, January 2nd inclusive. Have a Joyous Christmas And A Happy, Healthy New Year!

There is a brown wooden box on the back table in church marked for this purpose. Please place your donations in this box. For a check, make it to Immaculate Heart of Mary, then in the memo area “Home in Haiti”. Please be as generous as possible. In the miracle that is Christmas, the kindness of strangers can turn despair into joy and a renewed sense of hopefulness. Sincere thanks for your generous support of our Christmas program!
