MARY’S KITCHEN: Mondays: 3:30—5:30pm—Our parishioners donated four Pasta Dinner tickets to members of our

Soup Kitchen and/or Food Pantry. Many thanks for his thoughtfulness and generosity. Mary’s Kitchen is open Mondays from 3:30 to 5:30pm. All members of the community are invited – both parishion-

ers and non-parishioners alike – to pick up a take-out meal during those times or eat-in. Questions?? Contact Sharon at 328-0427 for more information.

PASTA DINNER PERFECTO: Details next Week—It was another Pasta Perfecto!! Many thanks to all of you who supported us by purchasing tickets, contributing items for the Basket Raffles, making delicious items for us to serve at the dinner, all those who helped prepare and serve our many and varied menu items, and to everyone who attended.

Because the information for the bulletin had to be in the Monday before the dinner, we don’t have all the details as yet. The drawing for the 8 Basket Raffles took place at the Pasta Dinner. Winners will be in the bulletin next week. Meanwhile, many thanks to the Barron’s, the Passonno’s, the McMahon’s, the Carabis’, Mrs. Dunbar, and the Kowalski’s, for providing us with these spectacular baskets to raise money for Faith Formation!!

Special thanks to all our volunteer servers for providing us with not only good service, but service with a smile!!

Conversations with God in the Year of Mercy

Our young people in Faith Formation are putting together a book of prayers once again. We will have them available on World Youth Day, October 23. There are a lot of prayers for animals, grandparents, family members and some that will just touch your heart.

Faith Formation Theme 2016-2017: Prayer and Works of Mercy

Our theme for Faith Formation this year will focus on how families can experience prayer together to deepen their rela-tionship with our Loving God. Our first project will be Cold Hands Hurrtt (for Joseph’s House). We will collect hats, coats, gloves, mittens and other cold weather gear for Joseph’s House (in Troy), through October 23.

AM sessions for grades Pre-k to 7 are 9:45 to 10:55, with Mass at 11AM. PM sessions for grades 6 to 10+ are 12:15 to 1:15pm, following the 11am Mass.

Please call the Faith Formation office at 328-0427 to register your child or for details about our Faith Formation Program.

Here’s What’s Coming Up in October. October 23: World Youth Day; Grade 3-4 Coffee hour after the 11am Mass October 23: Cold Hands Hurrt Collection Ends; Winter Gear brought to Joseph’s house October 30: Living Rosary, 7pm

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)

Following the opening prayer at the 11am Mass, Father will invite all children from Pre-K to grade 3 to go with our cate-chists to hear and discuss the readings for that Sunday’s Mass. They will return to you in the church after the Prayer of the Faithful.

Older siblings may participate in a different role as helpers to Mrs. Pontari. She also welcomes parent’s help. If you would like to accompany your little ones and see what it’s all about, please feel free to join them.

WORLD YOUTH DAY: 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time—World Youth Day is a day to celebrate youth, in

all their diversity and goodness, and to encourage our young people to find their place in the church and lead it into the future.

First created by Pope John Paul II in 1985, it is celebrated every year on the 30th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Internationally, it is celebrated in a different country every two to three years.)

This year in our parish, we will celebrate it on October 23. At the 11AM Mass, our young peo-ple will participate in the ministries and will also sing a special song at the end of Mass. Mrs. Pontari’s grade 3-4 will host a Coffee Hour immediately after the Mass and at 1pm will deliver all the winter gear collected from the Cold Hands Hurrt project to Joseph’s House in Troy.
