Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time 2
“Pastor’s Weekend Message” “The seed that falls on good ground
will yield a fruitful harvest” Psalm 65 My dear Holy Family, all
grace comes down from heaven and has been poured by the Holy Spirit
in our hearts. Our journey to holiness continues as we follow Jesus
who calls us to become missionary disciples for the Lord. We know
that our Lord needs laborers for His harvest, but another image is
also given to us this week in the Scriptures: to be the rich soil
where God’s seed is sown and “who indeed bear fruit and yields a
hundred or sixty or thirtyfold”. At every age, God’s grace and seed
are sown [the Word of God] and can grow and yield; for such a
reason, our receptivity and willingness to accept it is so
important. We live in a world full of noise and different ways of
communicating, but let us give God a chance and space to hear his
Word. Let it take root and grow at the very heart of our lives. May
what we hear, we understand; may what we understand, take root in
our hearts and may what we take in, we also share with all in our
own world. “The seed is the word of God, Christ is the sower. All

“Mensaje Pastoral del Parroco” “La semilla cayo en tierra Buena
y dio fruto” Salmo 64 Mi estimada Sagrada Familia, todas las
gracias y ben-diciones vienen del cielo porque ellas se nos han
vaciado en nuestros corazones por obra del Espíritu Santo. Nues-tro
camino a la santidad continua cuando seguemos al maestro, Jesús,
quien nos llama a ser discípulos misione-ros para su misión.
Sabemos que el Señor necesita obreros para su cosecha, pero también
se nos da esta semana la imagen (semilla y tierra) en las
escrituras de: ser la tierra buena donde la semilla de Dios puede
ser sembrada y “a quienes oyen la palabra, la entienden y dan
fruto: unos, el ciento por uno; otros, el sesenta; y otros, el
treinta”. En cada edad, la gracia de Dios es dada y la semilla es
sem-brada (Palabra de Dios) para que crezca y de fruto; por tal
razón, nuestra receptividad y voluntad de aceptarla es muy
importante. De hecho. vivimos en un mundo lleno de ruido y
diferentes modos de comunicación, pero démosle hoy un tiempo y un
espacio a Dios para escuchar su Pala-bra. Ojalá que eche raíz y
crezca en el mero centro de nuestros corazones. Sea lo que
escuchamos; algo que lleguemos a entender; lo que entendamos haga
nacer raíz en nuestros corazones; y lo que nazca sea también algo
que compartamos en el mundo. “La semilla es la palabra de Dios, el
sembrador, Cristo; el que le encuentra, permanece para siempre”.

FIESTA RAFLLE TICKETS Our Fiesta in Honor of Our Lady of San
Juan de Los Lagos will be on August 13. We ask you to help us with
the raffle tickets. The first raffle prize is $2,500 dollars; the
second $1,000 and the 3rd is $500. We ask that each family take 10
tickets to sell. Know that for every 10 tick-ets that you sell, you
will be given a ‘golden ticket’ which enters you into another
raffle with a prize of $250 dollars.
BOLETOS DE LA RIFA
La fiesta en honor a la Virgen de San Juan de los Lagos será el
13 de agosto. Les pedimos que nos ayuden con los boletos de la
rifa. El 1° premio es de $2,500, el 2° de $1,000 y el 3° de $500.
Les rogamos que cada familia se lleve un sobre de 10 boletos para
vender. Sepan que por cada 10 boletos que entregue se le dará un
“boleto dorado” el cual le lleva a entrar a otra rifa de un premio
de $250. Favor de ayudarnos a venderlos.
Cross Catholic Outreach Priest-Rev. Tim O’Toole Father Tim
O’Toole is a priest of the Diocese of Palm Beach. Prior to his
ordination in 1989, Fr. Tim was a high school teacher and he was
also a realtor before entering the Seminary. Among his pastoral
assignments, Fr. Tim was Pastor of St. Mark’s Parish and school in
Cali, Co-lombia and South America. Fr. Tim says that his 3 year
pastorate to the extremely poor in South America was the most
joyful of this priesthood. Fr. Tim will be visiting our Parish next
weekend to speak at all the Masses on behalf of Cross Catholic
Outreach which was founded to create a meaningful link between
parishes in America and the priests and nuns working in the Church
overseas in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Central and South America.

Rachel’s Vineyard weekends are a beautiful opportunity for any
person who has struggled with the emotional or
spiritual pain of abortion. It is an opportunity to heal
repressed feelings of anger, shame, guilt and grief in a safe and
confidential environment. We offer help to all
who have been affected by an abortion (mothers, fathers,
grandparents, close friends, even medical personnel).
Hope, healing and forgiveness are available. The future English

Catholic Engaged Encounter is an in-depth, private, personal,
marriage preparation experience within the con-text of the Catholic
faith and values. The retreat is open to any couples who are
engaged, considering engagement and wanting to prepare for a
deeper, more meaningful life together with the belief that marriage
is between a man and a woman and to be recognized by the Catholic
Church. Catholic Engaged Encounter is beautiful and non-reational
retreat designed to give each couple an oppor-tunity to discuss
honestly with each other, in a face-to-face manner, their goals,
ambitions, strengths and weak-nesses, desires, goals, their
attitudes about money, sex, family, spiritual values and their role
in society. In 1992, Pope John Paul II, proclaimed the Catholic
Engaged Encounter as a Vatican approved marriage preparation
program. The program fulfills the requirements for the immediate
preparation for marriage in the Catholic Church as prescribed by
the Diocese of Stockton.

School of Ministry Courses for 2017-2018 An Introduction to
Theology for Ministry course will be provided at two locations: In
Spanish at St. Frances of Rome in Riverbank on Wednesday nights
from 7–9:30pm. Orientation Day will be on Wednesday, September
13th. English courses will be at St. Anthony in Manteca on Thursday
nights from 7–9:30pm. Orientation Day will be on Thursday,
September 14th. Scripture Institute Bible Study course will be
provided in English at the Ryan Center in Stockton on Monday nights
from 7–9:30pm. Orientation Day will be on Monday, September 11th. A
two-day Pre-Baptismal Ministry Training will be provided in English
at Holy Family Church in Modesto on Saturday, September 30, 2017
and Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9:00am – 3:30pm. Participants
must attend both days. Pre-registrations should be sent in no later
than Friday, September 22, 2017. Registration for these courses

need to remind everyone of the importance of dressing appropriately
in the house of God. Please avoid short dresses or shorts,
spaghetti straps and any other immodest attire which does not cover
the shoulders, back and cleavage. We ask that men avoid wearing
shorts or sleeveless shirts. Thank you.

Mark your calendars for August 13th because that is the date of
our Salida Fiesta in Honor of Our Lady of San Juan de Los Lagos.
Everyone is invited so bring your friends and family. Come for
delicious food, great entertainment and lots of fun activities for
the kids! Be sure to buy your raffle tickets for only $5.00 each.
1st Prize is $2,500, 2nd Prize is $1,000 and 3rd Prize is $500 and
that’s just to name a few. This year we have Golden Tickets again.
For every 10 tickets that you sell, you will be given a Golden
Ticket. There will be a special raffle for the Golden Tickets.

2017-2018 Religious Education will be on Tuesday,
August 1st. There will be no exceptions. All of the Sacraments
are available but classes are filling up
quickly. Registrations are accepted Monday through Friday from
1:30pm - 4:30pm in the Parish Office.
