“THE CHRIST’S By JOSÉ RODRIGUES IN THE MIllENNIUM BCP COllECTION”

The Contemporary Art Museum of Funchal hosts an

exhibition by Master José Rodrigues that assembles a

collection of pieces of sculpture, drawing and painting. This

collection of strong reference and greatly marked by sign

expressions reflected on the paintings.

José Rodrigues along with Armando Alves, Ângelo

de Sousa and Jorge Pinheiro, were part of the “Group

of the Four Twenties”, a designation assigned to these

four major figures in the cultural life of Oporto, who

concluded their graduation courses with the final

average score of 20 during the 60’s.

“The Christ’s by José Rodrigues in the

lET’S lEARN MORE ABOUT THE SEA

Within the framework celebrations of the National Sea Day,

which is held every year on the 16th of November, the Madeira

Ethnographic Museum associated itself to these celebrations with

towards the importance of the Sea as an essential element to life

and in the perfect functioning of our ecosystem.

Throughout the month of November various entities will

undertake several initiatives within the celebrations of the

National Sea Day, Our special highlight goes to Clube Naval do

Funchal, which will promote different activities targeted to both
