FUND RAISING - BUY A BRICK
The “Buy a Brick” project was an enormous success. Each Learner was given a form
with “31 bricks” that were sold at R5.00 each. Completed forms went into a draw and
learners had the chance to win a R1000.00 gift voucher from
Cape Gate Shopping Centre. The amount raised from this
initiative will be used to purchase bricks for our building.
To date we have collected approximately R15 000.00.
The R1000.00 gift voucher was won by Tyla Rowbotham in
Grade 3.
OPENING ADDRESS
Luke 16 v 11 – So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth,
who will trust you with true riches?
The world’s view of prosperity is so different to God’s view of prosperity. There are
biblical principles which we need to apply to our lives in order to be truly prosperous.
Prosperity does not only refer to money but also to God’s many blessings in terms of
health, protection, peace, joy and sound relationships.
God blesses those who know how to manage their money and talents wisely.
God expects us to bring our tithes into the storehouse (the church where you are fed
spiritually) and to give offerings (above our tithes).
God expects us to pay our debts and to owe no man anything except to love him.
We are also to consider the poor, widows and orphans. We are to have integrity and
Godly values in life, to be accountable and to take responsibility for ourselves and
those entrusted to our care.
How can God bless us if we do not heed these things?
Can God trust you with true riches? If not, set the record straight so that God can
trust you with more. Surrender your finances to him and ask him for wisdom so that
you can manage your finances in a way for you to prosper.

Our new school building is nice and it is a
big building. I wish we can already move
into our new building.
Thank you to the people who are building
our school and thank you uncle Tommy!
Uncle Tommy you are the BEST!
Rakeesa Maart - Grade 4
I think our new school is going to look cool!
I hope the classrooms are big and I hope
that they are painted bright colours, like
pink or yellow.
I really want our class to be upstairs
because Sir says we will be able to see
Table Mountain. I also hope the class-
rooms are decorated with pretty pictures
like flowers or hand prints, but for the boys
it could be cars. I hope the floor will be
easy to clean, well easier than carpets! I
can’t wait to see our new classrooms.
I’m very excited!
Mpilo Ndaba - Grade 4
Our new school building is going to be BIG
and very NICE. The builders are working
very hard and very fast. You can see
what is going to be classrooms and what
is going to be offices. We have heard that
it is going to be done by the end of the
year. It is sad that we have to move out of
the house but we are going to have bigger
and better classrooms and offices so I
guess its fine.
God bless you!
Caitlyn Taaibosch - Grade 4
Our new school building is huge. The
toilets and classrooms are very big. I am
excited because the first floor slab is
going on soon and we are getting an
extra holiday.
I am so happy that we will be able to do
P.T inside the hall even when it’s raining.
I really hope our class is upstairs so that
we will get to see Table Mountain.
Maddison De Villiers - Grade 4
FROM THE MOUTH OF BABES - OUR NEW SCHOOL BUILDING
We are building a new part onto our
school. It is very sad because we have
to say goodbye to the grade 7,8 and 9
learners. We are really going to miss
them.
The best part is we are going to be mov-
ing into our new school building and I
cannot wait! The classes are much big-
ger.
I hope we are going to move into the
new school building next year.

FROM THE MOUTH OF BABES
A REMARKABLE “WOMAN”- Warona Mayekiso Grade 9
A definition of a woman: a woman is a nurturer, a helper, a kind
heart.
A woman shows love to anyone around them, not judging them
by their circumstances. A woman is a sensitive being but is as
strong as a rock. A woman is a leader empowered by her
surroundings, it doesn't matter if it’s good or bad.
A woman is seen by her curves, the arch in her back, the
movement of her hips and the lift in her breasts. She is
phenomenal in everyway. The way she walks with pride with her head lifted high.
She wears her heels with both her feet pointed North.
A woman is a born survivor. She builds up a household with both hands.
She is a nurse who will take all your scars away. She is a cleaner who is able to
clean 24 hours a day. She is a chef who cooks the best meals. A woman is a
provider. A woman will never sleep while her children are hungry. She has a smile as
bright as the sun, but when she is hurt she can cry a whole river. She has a massive
heart, but it can be broken into pieces by just one word.
Woman are beautiful in every kind of way. They carry infants in their womb for 9
months, that shows how strong they are. I say thank you to the woman reading this
with a beautiful heart and amazing smile.
MY HOLIDAY - Rowan Adams Grade 4
When school closes my Grandma will be staying at our
house for the holiday with my cousins, Kelan and Limore.
We are going on the Cape Wheel and to Club Mykonos.
My Grandma is a great swimmer and she is 72 years old!
She and my father taught me how to swim. I like to take
races with my Grandma, my cousins and my father. We
also play games in the water. When my mother and
grandma put music on they force us to dance! This is
going to be a great holiday!
HOLIDAYS - Evan
Blankenberg Grade 4
My family are going to the
beach. We are going to swim in
the sea and build sandcastles.
My brother and I will kick the ball
on the beach and have lots of
fun. After the beach we will go
home and braai and then watch
movies.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
Hebron Christian Academy celebrated its seventeenth birthday on the 15th August
2017. Various activities were organised to celebrate this milestone.
We started off the celebrations with a poster competition. Learners were asked to
design posters, with the theme “God Rescues”. Our young artists decorated the
school wall’s with their inspirational master pieces.
On the Friday it was “Funky Shoe Day”. Learners were asked to design and wear
“funky shoes”. Each learner was also asked to bring either a second hand pair of
shoes or a loaf of bread to donate to the needy in Kalkfontein. Prizes were awarded
for the most “funky shoes”. Our staff were treated to delicious platters to enjoy
during their break.
On Friday evening the young people had a Youth Bash. A time of praise and
worship was held and the learners ministered to each other.
On the Sunday we held a youth service. Micaela Abrahams, Skyler Ferriera and
Gené Howard (grade 6) ministered in dance, Emily Coetzee (grade 4) played a song
on the keyboard and Siya Rathabe and Ethan Jarvis (grade 6) ministered the Word.
Tea, cake and snacks were served after the service.
Thank you to everyone involved during ‘Jesus Week’. We once again got to
experience the love, care and family bond that makes Hebron Christian Academy
stand out as a beacon of hope in this community.

ZOË CLINIC
Now that spring is here it’s wonderful to get out into the beautiful weather and
to start exercising.
Exercising:
Improves your circulation
Strengthens your muscles
Improves your complexion and gives you a healthy glow
Improves your mood as it releases endorphins in your body (feel good
hormones)
Burns calories and helps you to lose weight
Makes a good social outing
Put your takkies on and get started!!!
You don’t need to join a gym- just get more active. Try to go for a brisk walk
for at least thirty minutes, three times a week.
