About Communion The Lord’s Supper is a great gift from God and an amazing mystery of forgiveness and
grace. Because Scripture teaches it can be taken to one’s harm (1 Cor. 11:27-29), we encourage that it be received only by those who accept the Scriptural teaching concerning this special gift. Are you a believer in Christ (Heb. 11:6)? Are you sorry for your sins (Prov. 28:13)? Do you believe that with the bread and wine Christ also offers His body and blood (1 Cor. 10:16)? Are you willing to forgive those who have sinned against you (Mt. 6:14-15)? If you share these Biblical beliefs, then we welcome you to participate. Training is available for anyone who is interested and for all children during their 5th through 8th grade years. Also please note, there is non-alcoholic wine available. Please choose the lighter colored cup. Please see our Vacancy Pastor Corey Grant for more information.
AS WE GATHER: Some of the most memorable portraits of Jesus shared with us by the Gospel writers depict times when He prayed. We remember Him teaching the disciples to pray when He was on the mountain, sharing the heart of His teaching. We have the powerful portrait of Him praying in the Garden of Gethsemane the night He was betrayed. And in John’s Gospel is recorded what is known as the High Priestly Prayer of our Lord. Jesus prayed for His people during His earthly ministry; He continues that praying for us. In his first epistle, John writes that “we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1). There is holy conversation in heaven just as sure as there is holy conversation on earth when we pray!
