Basic summary for Hajj

Repent - and make sincere Tawba for all your past sins & ask forgiveness from your Parents, Family Members, Friends and

Neighbours etc

Obtain maximum Hajj knowledge by attending Hajj Seminars, reading various books & memorising important Du'as

(recommended books- Hajj, Umrah & Ziyarah By Abdul-Aziz Bin Abdullah Bin Baz & Hisnul Muslim (Fortress of the Muslim)

these are available in various languages

Buy all your necessity items for your Hajj Journey (Ehram, Belts, Sandals etc)

Get cleaned - take necessary shower, remove un-wanted hairs, nails, trim beard etc * Permissible to use perfumes before wearing

Ehram*

Wearing Ehram - depending on you flight- You may wear it from home, Airport or at the transit terminal (Choose which is

the best option to you)

Once wearing Ehram - DO NOT make Neeyah or pray Talbia yet...

Optional- You may perform 2 Rakah Nafil with Sura Kafirun & Iklas (After wearing the Ehram) at home or airport

Du'a when leaving home (Left foot first) and Recite

"I depart with Allah's name, relying on Him. It is Allah who saves us from sins with His guidance (the ability to do so)

Du'a for travel - recite in the car when travelling toward the airport

Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, How perfect He is, The One Who has placed this (transport) at our service,

and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord is our final destiny. O Allah, we ask You for birr and taqwa in this

journey of ours, and we ask You for deeds which please You. O Allah, facilitate our journey and let us cover its distance quickly. O Allah, You

are The Companion on the journey and The Successor over the family, O Allah, I take refuge with You from the difficulties of travel, from

having a change of hearts and being in a bad predicament, and I take refuge in You from an ill fated outcome with wealth and family.

You MUST wear Ehram 'FARD'(Perfumes or anything which has scent ie. soap, shampoo is not permissible after wearing

Ehram)

Make Neeyah -According to the type of Hajj you are performing (Ifrad , Qiran or Tamattu) Once Neeyah is made, all Ehram

restriction now applies. Neeyah for Tamattu

Allah-hummah labba-ye-ka bil Umrah

Start praying Talbia, in audible voice (Minimum Once Wajib)and continue throughout the journey

"Here I am for Umrah, here I am, Oh Allah, here I am. Here I am. You have no partner. Here I am. Surely all praise, grace and dominion is

yours, and you have no partner."

If you travelling to Medina First, you are NOT required to perform any of above however your need to perform all

above when travelling from Medina to Makkah (Before Mikat)

Expect long immigration at Jeddah Airport and be very patient (Foods & drinks are available outside airport)

Continue to pray Talbia on travelling toward Makkah

Once you have arrived in Makkah, leave all belonging in hotel, eat & take a nap if tired, then prepare to perform Umrah

Leaving from home to Airport

Arriving toward Mikat

Arriving at Jeddah Airport & Makkah (Hotel)

Must perform Wudu when making Tawaf (Continue reciting Talbia)

You may enter from any gates but Tawaf starts from Hajare Aswad (Lines displays on the floor)

Enter Al-Haraam with your right foot first and recite

"In the Name of Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah" O Allah, open the doors of mercy"

Optional, Long Du'a can also be recited when entering Al-Haraam

Pray Fard Saalah only if due, otherwise there is NO Tahiyatul Masjid *Nafil* when performing Umrah

Upon seeing Baitullah, recite Sura Al-Fateha and make sincere Du'a either in Arabic or in your own language (First Du'a is

accepted)

Once reached Hajare Aswad, wear the Ihram under your right armpit and over the left shoulder (during all 7 Tawaf)and

raise right hand toward Hajare Aswad and recite , (NO Talbia to be recited during Tawaf)and startTawaf

A strong and quick walk with boldness during first three rounds, then walk normally for the remainder four rounds (Men Only,

Women walks as normal)

During the Tawaf, recite any Du'as from memory, books & may recite Quran, do Istighfar, Tawba, and cry to Allah SWT

sincerely for all your sins also make Du'a for Family & Friends *Du'a can be recited in any languages (Group Du'as or specific

Du'as for each round is not authentic or recommended)

When approaching between Rukuni Yamani & Hajare Aswad, walk as normal and recite (As many times as possible)

O our Lord, grant us the best in this life and the best in the next life, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire

Complete all seven Tawafs by following above procedures, once completed cover both shoulders with Ehram(If Wudu

breaks, make new Wudu and you may start Tawaf from the same place you left from or start new Tawaf but you do not

repeatany completed Tawaf which you performed before braking Wudu

Offer two Rakah 'Wajib' (with Sura Kafirun & Iklas)any where in Al-Haraam (Do not Try to perform behind 'Makam-E-Ebrahim'

as you will be obstructing hajji's performing the Tawaf (it is permissible to pray anyware)

Drink Zam Zam water from any where in Al-Haraam and rub it on face & body with it, and may recite

"O Allah, I seek beneficial knowledge, wide sustenance and cure from all ailments from You".

Then leave Al-Haraam toward 'Sa'i' by reciting

"In the Name of Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, I ask for Your favour, O Allah, protect me from Satan

the outcast"

Once reached the top of Safa, face toward Qibla and recite

Surely the Safa and the Marwa are among the Symbols of Allah; so whoever makes a pilgrimage to the House or pays a visit (to it), there is no

sin if he goes round them both; and whoever does good of his own accord, then surely Allah is Grateful, Knowing

Once reached the top of the Safa and Mahwah facing toward Kaba by raising both hand and recite (Repeat all Du'as three

times)

Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. ToHim belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone. He

fulfilled His promise, aided His Servant and single-handedly defeated the allies.

Start Sa'i and you may recite any Du'as from memory or by looking at Du'a books between Safa & Mahwah

You may also recite the Du'a below during Sa'i

, How perfect Allah is and I praise Him. How perfect Allah is, The Supreme, There is no might nor power except with Allah

Between the Two 'Green lights 'Men are to pretend as running but Women walk as normal

Once completed all seven Sa'i, make long Du'a facing toward Kaabah on top of Mahwah

Leave Al-Haraam for trimming or shaving head (Women to cut approx. one inch from the end of hair tip by a Mehram) & recite

"In the Name of Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, I ask for Your favour, O Allah, protect me from Satan

the outcast"

Once the hair is trim or shaved - Umrah is completed (Now everything is permissible which was restricted during Ehram)

Recommendation - Do not perform excessive Nafil Umrah as you may find difficulty to perform Hajj (Nafil Umrah may perform after Hajj (Try

performing limited Tawaf)

** You may be ask to travel Mina a day early (7 Zil-Hijjah) to avoid rush(This is permissible)

Get cleaned - take shower, comb hair, trim beard etc

Wear Ehram FARD(Perfumes is not permissible) and make Neeyahand start praying 'Talbia'and continue.

Allah-hummah labba-ye-ka bi-hajjin

Optional - You may perform 2 Nafil with Sura Kafirun & Iklas (After wearing the Ehram) & may perform a Tawaf

Sunnah - Pray Fajr and then start your journey to Mina (On 8th Zil-Hijjah) keep praying Talbia, Du'a, Dhikr etc

Spend the night in Mina - Pray Zuhr, Asr, Magrib & Esha with Jaamah or Group as shortened, DO NOT combine

Spend a portion of day & night in Ibadah (Dhikr, Azkar, Istighfar) Make sure to have some rest too for Arafat

Pray Fajr in Jaamah (In Mina) and spend time until sunrise by performing Dhikr, Azkar, Istighfar long Du'a then proceed to

Arafat & Continue reciting Talbia

On arrival in Arafat (Around Zawal) listen to 'Khutbah' in or around 'Nimrah' and then perform the Saalah Zuhr & Asr

(combined or separate)both methods are permissible

Between Asr & sunsetis the acceptance of all you Du'as, Zikr, Azkar, Tawba either by looking at Du'a books or from your

heart - Perform the maximum Du'a by raising your both hand (Sunnah) toward facing Qibla from Jabalur Rahmah (if possible)

or any where and keep reciting (Du'a below) until the sunset

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things

omnipotent (This is the Du'a of All prophets PBUH)

Make sure the Du'a above and below are recited at all time while you are in Arafat

O our Lord, grant us the best in this life and the best in the next life, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire

DO NOToffer Magrib in Arafat and prepare for 'Muzdalifah' by reciting Dhikr, Azkar and Talbia on the way

Once reached 'Muzdalifah' combinedMagrib (3 Fard) Esha (2 Fard) (Shorten the prayer) and then Witr (3 wajib) with one

Adhan (do not offer any additional prayer in between these prayers)

This is a blessed night, offer Ibadah by Dhikr, Azkar during some part of the night (Do not perform excessive in Ibadah, try

getting some rest and sleep as you are require to perform *four task following day)

You may collect 7-10 pebbles for next day (Pebbles can also be collected in Mina)

Offer Fajr at the earliest (2+2) and offer long Du'a facing toward Qibla until dawn (Best time to make Du'a)Start your journey toward Mina (Sunnah after Fajr)(leave your belongings in the camp, if prefer) and then proceed for

Jamrat Al-Aqabahfor Stoning (One stoning only)

Once reached Jamrat Al-Aqabah, keep Makkah to your left and Mina to your right, throw each of the seven stones at Jamrat

by reciting and stop reciting Talbiaand complete this action by mid-day (Old, weak or sick can perform Rami alittle before sunset or during night) once completed make Du'a facing Qibla

Proceed toward slaughter house to sacrifice animal(You will have various option for slaughtering animal) however if you

feeling weak or tired, the sacrifice can be performed on 10, 11 or 12 Zil-Hijjah

Once the sacrifice is completed or confirmed, shave or trim you hair & be free from Ehram (wear normal cloths)

Now proceed for Tawaf-e-Ifadah toward Al-Haraam for Tawaf and Sa'i (as explained or performed during Umrah)*This can

also be performed on 10, 11 or 12 Zil-Hijjah* once completed return to Mina, spend time on performing maximum Ibadah

throughout the stay ** You MUST return to Mina by SUNSET ** May perform Qurbani after Tawaf if time does not premises

Proceed toward Jamrat for stoning (Three in total 7+7+7) between Zawal (Mid morning) until sunset

Throw seven pebbles on each of three Jamrat (21 in total) by reciting and perform Du'a facing Qibla after stoningJamrat 1 & 2 (No Du'a to be performed after completing 3rd Jamrat)

Proceed toward Jamrat for stoning (Three in total 7+7+7) between Zawal(Mid morning)until sunset

Throw seven pebbles on each of three Jamrat (21 in total) by reciting and perform Du'a facing Qibla after stoningJamrat 1 & 2 (No Du'a to be performed after completing 3rd Jamrat)

If you missed or decided to stay in Mina on the 13 Zil-Hijjah, then you MUST perform an additional stoning on the 13 Zil-

Hijjah before leaving toward Makkah (Wajib) as described above

You may visit the Prophet SAW mosque (Medina) and visit various sites for Ziyarah

You must perform 'Farewell Tawaf'before leaving Makkah (Make sure you have enough time for your flight) and the

procedure is exactly same as explained above

It is important to memorise maximum Dua & Azkar (Recommending to memorise All above Dua's)

Try to be calm & Patient throughout the Hajj and after

Do not involved in any disputes with unnecessary Fiqh issues

Always make sincere Tawba, Istighfar and cry to Allah SWT by remembering all sins

Always perform you own Dua's even with limited Arabic knowledge (Allah SWT have knowledge of all languages)

Always control emotions by avoiding to touch the black stone or pray behind Makam-E-Ebrahim, in the process you will be

hurting Haji's which is a bigger sin (Inshallah, you will be rewarded for being patients)

Avoid all Bid'ah and shirk throughout the hajj (Makkah & Medina)
