2. Narrative Structure The narrative structure in the DocumentaryFrankenstein is single stranded because it focuseson one topic throughout the programme. Thenarrative structure is also non-linear because theorder of the documentary is not in chronologicalorder, as it goes back and forward in time. It is aclosed documentary as everything was coveredduring the documentary so there was no lose ends. 3. Camera Work The camerawork during the Documentary Frankenstein is:In this documentary, it is a widescreen production which means thatthe codes and conventions of an interview set up are slightly different.During the interview setup the interviewee is slightly off centre butnot extremely to the left or right as otherwise it wouldnt look right.The shots that are used during interview set ups are mainly close ups.midshots and medium close ups. On this interview set up thebackground is out of focus which makes the interviewee more in focusso it attracts the audience to her and not the background, which gives itmore of a filmic feel than tv. Also, the interviews follow the rule of thirds.There are variety of shots that are used during this documentarysuch a the over shoulder shot of this trasnscript. 4. Mise-en-scenehelps to highlight the interviewee out so the audience isn't distracted by the background. When 5. Editing The editing process in Frankenstein is that there is alot of cutaways used so that you cannot hear theinterviewer asking questions and so it avoids jumpcuts. Other editing techniques is just the mostconventional type which is a simple cut.During this interview setup the camerais nto behind the interviewee whenhe is answering the questions asno camera can actually be seen but then it cutawaysto the actual book that he is getting outwhich is an over the shoulder shot. 6. Sound The sound during this documentary is mainly thevoiceover which was Male and spoke standardenglish so it was clear and the audience could easilyunderstand. There is also a song that is calledMonster Mash at the credits which relates to thetopic of this documentary. 7. Archive Material The archive material that was used throughout thisdocumentary was Black and white footage from theorginal, making of the book, Mcjagger at concerts,books painting and photographs. This was used tokeep the audience interested in the programme so itdoesnt get un interesting. 8. Graphics Graphics used were conventional on the interviewswhich was the name and relevance. The font wassimple and clear so it was easily read; nothingfancy. The title had a graphic design element to it asit was in different fonts and sizes.
