INFANT BAPTISMS The Sacrament is celebrated on Sunday at 1:15 PM. by appointment only. A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session

is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age. A practicing non-Catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman

Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church, please contact Barbara Bunag at 732-257-7722.

MATRIMONY The Sacrament of Matrimony requires an extensive

period of preparation. Contact must be made with Parish Center one year in advance.

MINISTRY TO THE SICK The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the anointing of the sick is available to our parish sick and shut-ins upon request. Please inform the parish concerning the needs of the sick by calling the Parish

Office. If any member of the parish is hospitalized, please notify the Parish Office immediately so that a member of the Pastoral Staff may visit.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF OUR PARISH FAMILY WHO ARE

SICK AS WELL AS THOSE MEMBERS WHO ARE SERVING IN

THE ARMED FORCES

Dear Brothers and Sisters, This Sunday the Church in the United States begins the annual celebration of Catholic Schools Week. We are so blessed to be able to continue to support our wonderful Saint Bartholomew School. The Mission of our school is to love, educate and inspire our students to live the teachings of Jesus Christ. At the 10 am Mass this Sunday we will kick-off the celebrations with a beautiful litur-gy highlighting the many accomplishments of our community. Truly God has blessed our parish and I invite all of our community to come and visit the school during the Open House after Mass. It is largely through the generosity of countless parish-ioners over the past 58 years that our parish and school continues to be a place where Jesus Christ is known, loved and served. May Our Lord continue to bless the work of our hands. Saint Bartholomew, pray for us. In Christ, Fr. Thomas

Discover the Joy of being a Hospice Volunteer

If you have a warm heart, a listening ear, and the gift of compassion, you can make a difference in the life of a hos-pice patient or family member. VNA Health Group is inviting individuals inter-ested in becoming hospice volunteers to join our team in Monmouth, Middlesex and Ocean Counties. There are many rewards and opportunities available to hospice volunteers though home visitation, companionship, administrative sup-port, pet therapy, or any alternative therapies (i.e. Reiki, Meditation.). We are also seeking volunteers interested in providing support calls to our patients and family members from our offices in Holmdel or Toms River. Training will be provided by members of the Hospice team.

Please call Pauline De Palma, BSW (732) 224-6933 or email your contact infor-mation: [email protected] For more information about VNAHG volunteer services visit www.vnahg.org
