KEEP KIDS WARM WALK Join our “Keep Kids Warm Walk” and show your love for our Lord and your love of your neighbor. On Saturday, November 17, the walk will begin at Stepping Stone Housing, 411 Vine Street at 10:30 a.m. with registration at 10:00 a.m. Fee is $20.00 per walker with ALL proceeds going directly to those WDSD families in our community who need assistance with heating expenses. Pre-register by calling the Society’s office at 608-253-0195 or pick up a brochure in the Gathering Room of the church or at St. Vincent’s Highway 16 Thrift Store. In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us, “I want you to observe that this poor widow contributed more than all the others who donated to the treasury. They gave from their surplus wealth, but she gave from her want, all that she had to live on.” Ask yourself, “Am I only giving from my surplus wealth?” and then send your tax deductible gift directly to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, P.O. Box 4, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin 53965, so that those who are suffering will be able to know God’s love and care. Thank you.

PREPARING YOUR HEART AND YOUR HOME FOR ADVENT Beginning this weekend, Saint Cecilia will be selling Advent wreaths and calendars in the Gathering Room after all Masses. Decorated wreaths - $20.00 each, undecorated wreaths - $10.00 each (includes taper candles). All wreaths will include a card with prayers for each week of Advent. Advent calendars will include:

“Silent Night, Holy Night,”

“Born this Day,”

“Joy to the World,” and

“For unto you...is born a Savior.”

Cost: $1.00 each

KINGS CHALLENGE: Each day say the prayer “All you Saints of God, pray for us.”

BIBLE STUDY - BEGINS JAN. 7, 2019

7 SESSIONS - $30.00

FULFILLED focuses on the elements found in the outer sanctuary of the Tabernacle and how they connect to the liturgical calendar, the priesthood, purgatory, baptism, and more. Have you ever been unable to explain the “why” of Catholic beliefs? Have you ever wondered why the Old Testament sounds so different from the New Testament? While it is designed as a faith-sharing Scripture study, you will also gain an understand-ing of some of the most questioned Catholic teachings. FULFILLED will help you: 1) Explain how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament; 2) Share the Catholic Faith concisely; 3) Acquire a thorough knowledge of the Tabernacle’s design and its function as a blueprint for the Faith, 4) Learn how to answer incomplete and non-Catholic interpretations of the Bible; 5) Examine your own faith and grow deeper in your relationship with Christ. If interested, contact Dave Kordell at 608-393-1719 or email: [email protected]

ATTENTION FAITH FORMATION PARENTS: CIRCLE OF GRACE PROGRAM CURRICULUM NOTIFICATION The Diocese of Madison takes very seriously its commitment to protecting children by every means available. This includes helping young people to better understand their intrinsic dignity and worth as children of God and to navigate some of the dangers our culture throws at them. To that end, age-appropriate resources are presented annually to all children and youth in the diocesan catechetical programs. In the coming weeks, your child will participate in such a lesson from the “Circle of Grace” program. The lessons are designed to help children develop the vocabulary and boundary distinctions necessary to endure their health and safety. You may want to preview the lesson your child will be taught. You are also most welcome to attend the class with your child. You can find the grade-specific lessons on the diocesan website at www.MadisonDiocese.org/cog-lesson-plans (contact me for the password). However, we also understand and support the role of parents as the primary educators of their children, and recognize that some parents may choose to present this instruction themselves to their own children. If you would like to do this and “opt out” of the classroom opportunity, please contact Dave Kordell at 253-5621 ([email protected]). This helps us hold ourselves accountable as a Diocese to the integrity of our efforts, as well as helping us improve our efforts where necessary. You may want to remind your children that no one should approach or touch then in a way that makes them feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused. If someone does, they should immediately tell you. Parents are encouraged to visit the diocesan website for links to additional valuable resources aimed at keeping your children safe. See www.MadisonDiocese.org/safety-tips-for-parents. If you have any questions about the “Circle of Grace,” please feel free to contact Dave Kordell at 253-5621, ([email protected]) or the diocesan Office of Safe Environment ([email protected]).
