Nominal Plan: Nokia remarks

• Allowance must be made for 100% expandability for more sites using a E1

line:• max no of trx’s on E1 is 12

• at launch of a site max 6 trx shall be fitted on E1 to allow expansion

• when conf 1+1+1 is planned, 2 sites per E1

• 3 road or rural area sites 1+1 per E1

• sites shared on the same E1 must be geographically separated ( no

neighbour on the same E1)

• sites chained on the same E1 should share the same ET port at BSC

• BSC initial fill rate not exceeding 80% of capacity

• 1 E1 /BTS for CAPACITY PLAN (to avoide drastic change in

equipment/topology plan)

• The Nokia FlexiHopper PDHmicrowave radio family includes

models for 7, 8, 13, 15, 18,23, 26and 38 GHz frequency bands.

• capacity is 2x2, 4x2, 8x2 or 16x2Mbit/s. This can be selected usingthe node manager or the networkmanagement system (NetAct)without any hardware changes.

• FlexiHopper radios use forwarderror correction (FEC) andinterleaving to improve signal level.

band,

• In the 58GHz band, the signal isabsorbed by oxygen, limitingfeasible hop lengths to somewhatmore than 800 m

• Nokia MetroHub allows 'to install'the cross-connection and media

change functionality into the placewhere it is needed. This allows youto maximise the trunking efficiencywith less equipment. Thus itincreases network reliablity andavailability, e.g. using a looptopology.

• The maximum interface capacityis 160 x 2 Mbit/s.

• Nokia MetroHub is capable ofgrooming traffic payload at 8 kbit/sgranularity.

• MetroHub can be connected via a

Flexbus cable from up to 300 m toNokia MetroHopper radio, NokiaFlexiHopper radio with 2 x 2, 4 x 2,8 x 2, and 16 x 2Mbit/s capacity,another radio indoor unit with aFlexbus interface.

FXC STM-1 transmission unit hastwo short haul optical STM-1

interfaces and two power supplyinterfaces for Nokia UltraHopperradios.When STM-1 units areused, one FXC Bridge unit mustalso be used. It contains the mainSDH functions, such as the SDH

node clock, SDH cross-connect(VC-3, VC-2, VC-12 level).

There’s equivalent for FXC STM-1used in Metrosite only - FC STM-1. It combines STM-1 and bridgeunits (sandwich unit). It supports

only 4x2Mbit/s capacity

FIU 19 is the indoor unit for 19-inch mechanics applications:• One FIU 19 can support up to 4 outdoor units.

• FIU 19 can feed power to two outdoor units via the Flexbusconnections. When more than 2 outdoor units are used, a Flexbusplug-in unit with its own power supply is required. When fouroutdoor units are connected, the OUs connected through the main unitFlexbus interfaces (FB1 andFB2) must be configured to protectedmode. So transmission to a maximum of three directions can be

achieved with one FIU 19 indoor unit.
