AGRITECTURE.COM JOB POSTING #0015 – CHIEF AGRICULTURAL OFFICER, FARMEDHERE BEDFORD PARK, ILLINOIS 1 Chief Agricultural Officer POSITION OVERVIEW The function of the Chief Agricultural Officer is to lead FarmedHere’s growing operations and position the Company for future growth. The CAO will be responsible to lead and manage all aspects of FarmedHere’s growing operations, including environment, crop scheduling, plant health and nutrition, IPM, and yields, as well as to manage, train, and direct a team of 30+ farm team members. The CAO will serve as a vital member of FarmedHere’s management team and will lead the expansion of our growing operations at future farms. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Effectively manage all employees within FarmedHere’s farm and production systems Implement growing policies and procedures that produce optimal yield results Perform quality control, yield, and nutritional analysis of plants and create regular reports Implement automated monitoring, sensor and control systems Maintain optimal integrated pest management plan Direct and maintain environmental and climate controls within farm Assure that all members of farm and production team are maintaining highest food safety standards and lead SQF process Direct all record-keeping procedures; ensure that team members are maintaining logs Prepare regular written reports summarizing and assessing all relevant data metrics in farm Create and update all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at the farm CORE COMPETENCIES Excellent strategic planning skills and proven ability to implement strategy without oversight Excellent documentation, organization and follow-up skills. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Must have excellent written communication, project management and implementation skills, think strategically, be flexible and be able to work with diverse groups in a team environment. OTHER REQUIREMENTS (LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS) B.S. in plant biology or other agriculture-related field required, relevant advanced degree preferred At least 7 years experience managing indoor farms or greenhouses Experience with aquaponics or aquaculture preferred but not required Experience maintaining high food safety standards in a controlled environment required; experience with SQF certification preferred Knowledge of USDA Organic Certification requirements is preferred Spanish proficiency is a plus
