You would just rather be out of your own home, playing with other people’s toys and games and meeting new kids and parents! Well, look no further!

We are still ironing out the details, but later this Fall, we will be popping-up an indoor play-space at the Community Activities Building! Kids will be able to bounce, ride and play, under the watchful eyes of their own Parents and/or Caregivers!

TEENS

The Teen Advisory Board is an organization that offers teens a chance to speak up on issues that concern you and your peers such as, the new skate park, dances, curfews, and much more. The Teen Advisory has already started to work some up and coming events for the school year. This should be a fun and exciting year so don’t miss out! If you want to be part of an organization where Teens are the Issue and where you can truly make a difference, join us the first Wednesday of every month. Applications must be competed to be part of this valuable team. Please pick up applications at the Red Morton Community Center and ask for Mark Yasuda. For more information, contact Mark at 780-7316 or email [email protected]

Do you want to be part of a group that is interested in working with the community to make a difference? Where teen issues are discussed and

where activities are planned for teenagers like yourself?

TEENS! Create your business, your brand, your market and your niche - and do it now. If you don’t start now, when will you? Learn to leverage skills that will help you no matter what path you choose in life. You will be guided to learn exactly what you need to in order to give yourself the opportunity to put yourself and your ideas out there. The work will be focused around (please note that these are ALL buzzwords and won’t mean much until you actually start to do, rather than read about, them):

• Branding • Social Media Marketing • Global Economy • Productivity • Time Management • Networking • Hiring (and firing) Employees • Budgeting • Efficient Communication • Collaboration • Organizational Effectiveness

You will be guided to think so big that you will invariably fail. The only (yes, just one) thing everyone will definitely learn from this experience is to redefine the word “failure” in a positive context. Please note that you will actually be working on a real live business/project that will have electronically tangible impact.

FOUNDED BY: Adnan Iftekhar who has founded a non-profit, 4 businesses (2 of which were profitable from day 1) and a school. He has studied and taught biology, french, math, dance, yoga, design, acrobatics and productivity on three continents to students ranging from age 2 - 82. He speaks 5 languages and still strives to make sense of the vagaries of the english language. Most importantly, he wants to transform the way we educate our children and redefine the words learning, educating, teaching and school.

Part 1: Orange is the New Brand OitnB (if you don’t know what that is, you know what to do…) gives us an immersive perspective on an experiment that turned into success overnight. Well, almost. We will talk brand, identity and the defining moments of prison and how this legendary Netflix series defied convention - and won.

Part 2: Branding Bad We continue our discussion of brand and identity by taking elements of this AMC TV series and analyze the obsession with fame and non-mediocrity in our society.

Part 3: Game of Brands Believe it or not, the Game of Thrones is now being taught as a college level course. As a Fantasy series turns into a TV series, we will talk about nerds, geeks and how it is now cool to be known as one of “them.”
